chapter11studios

Just popping in to say hi and show off a little sketch that I  posted on the Chapter 11 Studios website. Get thee there!

And there will be a new Adventure Architect this month as well...  :)

Josh, as usual, the new stuff looks great!

I am REALLY looking forward to this game.

BTW: I moved this into this board because it wasn't really an official 'Game in Production' thread.

D'oh, sorry for the mistake! Thanks for moving the post.

It's absolutely gorgeous (as always) I can't wait for RotHS to come out. I like concept art maybe even more than finished pictures. What surprises me is that so few people post their reactions... every n00b posting eye-bleedingly coloured empty box as his first BG gets way more replies... Strange.

Jaz: I think it's probably because when people look at the "eye-bleedingly coloured empty boxes" they want to give advice.  But when people post amazing images like these, there's no advice to give!
Sssshhhh!!! No sex please, we're British!!- Pumaman

Barbarian

Incredible artistic talent. I like the use of shading in the sample.
Yes, I'm definately looking forwards to seeing this game in action as well.
Overall from what I seen about this upcoming Rise of the Hidden Sun game on the "Chapter 11 Studios" website, this game is going to be totally awesome.
Conan: "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!"
Mongol General: "That is good."

Great artwork. The rest of the images on the site look very good as well.

I don't think there's anything "amazing" or "gorgeous" about this latest image.
I think it's quite ordinary.
No offence intended - I just thought I'd throw in a conflicting opinion.
Still waiting for Purity of the Surf II

No offense taken. Me, I very much like the composition of the shot, and the interesting use of the cliff on the right as the player character enters the screen. I also like what it accomplishes in revealing that rocky pinnacle in the distance, because it gives a nice preview of what the character will be exploring in a screen or two. This is important because the screens walking up the pinnacle are close-up shots, so this establishing shot is important and means we don't have to do as much work to set the scene on the next few screens.

If you look closely at the abbey in the distance as well, you can see how it's been configured at an angle so that when up close, the player will see the bell tower on the first screen but not on the next when he walks down to the entrance. I guess I'm seeing not just the screen itself, but the work that went into it to make the rest of the scene easier to create--none of which would necessarily be immediately obvious to the casual observer.
