Problems Running Slacker Quest

After downloading Slacker Quest, I can't seem to get it to work.  It's all jumbled on my screen, took me forever to get out of it.  I tried running the setup programs, but they don't seem to be working for me either.  Any suggestions?

I have Windows XP by the way...

Was it possible that you're running a DOS compiled version of the game ?
If you can find a windows version, download that, or else, see if this helps.
