Since they diabled the hints forum, where can we post hints now?
The hardest thing in this world... is to live in it. (Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers in "The Gift")

Perhaps it could be kept in this one topic if people clearly say what game it is and hide all spoilers?

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

Er, I don't think that'd work... so many games, the topic would quickly become one jumbled mess...
Reach for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

Kneel. Now.

Never throw chicken at a Leprechaun.

PM the creator, or take it to IRC, search google for a walkthru, then as a last resort, bring it here. ?
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

I think the *best* approach was still it's own forum... that way people could browse through old hints, things were stored, problems were easily solved...

...I don't suppose that one could be brought back?

ANOTHER solution would be a sort-of mandatory walkthrough that game creators had to include... I'm just trying to be practical here.

Please DO NOT post any hint requests in the forums at the moment.

This forum arrangement is a temporary measure while we sort out the server issues, and if people keep abusing it by posting stuff that belongs in suspended forums in these ones, I'll just shut the forums down altogether.

I don't know about anybody else, but for me, the hints forum was the most important one!  I'm not a game creator, I just love to play.  Couldn't you get rid of the "popular threads" forum instead?  Or even THIS one?  I for one would rather be able to post hints instead of useless conversation.  But, that's just one person's opinon.  :)

me too.  I kneed hints more than anything else.  Without them, the games become frustrating.

I have a hint for you... trade in your brain for a newer model. Or learn to play adventure games at least. If you are stuck for a stupid reason as the creator decided to put in a randomly obscure puzzle solution, play a better game.
I am Jean-Pierre.

Hey hey now, that's not very nice, Layaboot. :) Be nice!

Or don't, doesn't matter to me. ::)

To me, this forum has always seemed mainly directed towards people who use the engine to create games, and the accesability to players is an added bonus.Ã,  To creators, the discussions about upcoming titles, better ways to make games, what has worked in the past and so forth are very important.Ã,  If the Adventure-Related Talk and Chat forum disappeared, a lot of what's important about the forums would go too.

However, there are other forums where you can ask for hints, such as at Adventure Gamers(many AGSers are also members of Adventure Gamers, so you're even reaching a lot of the same audience) or Just Adventure+.Ã,  Many game makers even have their own forums, such as Gaspop, AGD Interactive, and the Reality-On-the-Norm games.Ã,  You'll find plenty of people able to help you out there.
