I finished an AGI template, using the SQ2 model. At least I THINK I finished it. I HOPE I did. Could you please take a look and tell me if I did?

I'd like to know if it's good enough to be a template, on a technical level, and if it's playable as it is (although there's, of course, very little to do).

I'd just like to point out one of the main features people may miss - the ability to call the main menu (ESC) even from what appear to be blocking scenes. The secret is, of course, they're not blocking at all, but the illusion is, to me at least, perfect. It's also one of the things that make me reccomend the template to advanced users only... but then, who else would dare to use the text parser?

BTW, the whole vocabulary is the entire vocabulary from SQ2. Really. Using it for any other purpose, such as a fantasy setting, will no doubt require many more words, but there's already a LOT there, plus about all the words you'd need for Sci-Fi. Really!

Last but not least, you'll notice some words in the vocabulary have an underscore, like "pick_up" or "look_down" or "space_suit". These are just placeholders - I'll update the list when AGS supports "pick up" and "space suit". ;)

Now please... CC!

I'm interested in looking this over, but unfortuately the template doesn't show up when I use the 2.62 or the Beta 2.63 release?!?

Funny, now that I test it, I can't either... that's odd.

EDIT - OK, I have NO idea what happened... but the newest upload should work. I don't know what was wrong, either. ANyway, the link's the same.

Oh dear, I forgot to say... you probably need the latest beta, even though it's experimental... I needed it for that 1-word bug.

It loads fine with me, BTW...

Excellent work, redruM! You've grabbed a lot of the details of the AGI system and created a pretty good working facsimile in AGS. I will definitely be using your system here as a reference of sorts... at least to get started. (I actually intend to closer copy the parser of SCI but it really works very similarly). Too bad about those two word synonyms. I also see how you did the room parsing first and then the global parsing. Thanks for that.

There is one thing I've noticed, and I know it's not your fault. The Ego doesn't walk with the same finesse as he does in AGI. He seems to move a frame farther each cycle than he should. I've seen this before in other ports of AGI and even SCI games. I've even tried to fix it myself when given the game resources... unsuccessfully.

Overall, smash up job! This will be very useful to all the faithful text parsers like me out there!!!
I'm so excited!

Thank you! Then I'll "oficially" release it when I can get those "two-word words" sorted out then. right? I mean, the code seems tight, it's user-friendly enough, efficient, all that?
