Despite this being a simple question, I haven't found the answer to it yet.
How do I activate an elevator or something, after pressing a button?

Ishmael

For ex. Hotspot Interactions -> Interact Hotspot -> Go To Diffrent Room (I haven't used the interaction editor that much, so I don't remember exactly, but I think it's "Game - Go to a diffrent room" in the dropdown list)

And if you try the scripting, look for the NewRoom command in the manual.
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

Did you check the manual for this, Fraze? I suggest reading through the manual from the beginning before starting to use AGS. It's pretty much expected of new users nowadays. :)

i did look through the manual, but there is hardly anything in it to help. And i mean, if you have an electronically locked door, and press a switch to 'activate' that door

Ishmael

Excuse me?

You mean like what you should do to activate that door? How about moving the character to the button, simply displaying a message saying "You press the button and the door opens" and then changing room?

Or if you want an animation of the door opening, then simply create that animation frame-by-frame, import it into AGS, and call that animation.
