Hi!
I drew this bg to my little horror game.

Any suggestions how I could improve it?

Indie Boy

the sheets on the bed a little more uneven ant what I think is a deer's head some eyes and a nose and maybe a few logs in the fire.
I do like it. It some how draws you into it ;D
I won't use this login.
Try IndieBoy instead

The fireplace is brighter because I'm gonna make animated fire inside of it. :P

Ok. I did some modifications to the moosehead and some more shading for the bed. But the room still looks a bit empty.

How about putting some stuff on the fireplace... a box of matches? a candle?
The corner behind the bed looks like it should have something in it too... perhaps a pile of logs for the fire... though I'm not sure it'd be big enough to notice... hmmmm :)

Takara.

Ubel

I added some new details to it.

Yes, what would an adventure game be without a box of matchesÃ,  ;)

Out of experience, I would say that the logs should not be just lying on the floor, put them in a box next to the fireplace.
Also, it seems that the bed is supposed to be against the wall, but the top of the bed is tilted so that it is not in the same line of perspective as the rest of the room.
As for adding details, you could:
Make the walls from wooden planks as well.
Hang a painting on the wall
Hang a gun on the wall
Put a rug on the floor
Add a place to keep the poker, pick, brush (stuff you generally need with a fireplace)

I think it would add to the atmosphere if you put structure wherever you could. The floorboard in particular cries for some. Bricks, the wall, the bed could use some as well.

I'm not a fan of black outlines, but that's down to personal taste. :)

Here's another atmosphere-tip: Since it'll be burning in the fireplace, and fire is a rather unstable light source; you could have the light (and the shadows) animated a little (not to be overdone!). This could easily be pulled off by creating 4 or 5 light/shadow layers, and export as you turn them on and off, then animate the background in AGS. You might have thought of this already of course...

Yes, I have thought of this.Ã,  :P

Well the logs sould be in a very dark place, as the fireplace has a wall facing it... Not nearly enough shadowed that part...

Here's the final version.

I'm pretty satisfied how it came out so I'm not going to do any more changes to it.
Thanks to all of you for your comments!Ã,  ;D
