This is supposed to be a map screen of a university campus.

Before I move on to shading, I wouldn't mind some comments, particularly on the windows. I don't like the way they've turned out.

Ideas?

VERY nice. I agree there is somwething skwey (how DO you spell that, squey skweay :'?)How ever the shading you have done is quit sufficiant for most purposes. Graduent and other methods of shading are not always needed. graduent is NOT king. The shadows are quite good as is. Maybe the windows should be double line all the way. or something else. good job though.

screwy

and why arent the proportions on the lower right brown building all screwy? I think that detracts from an otherwise superb map screen.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

Good one snarky! Skewed, that's what it is!

I tried make make the bottom building skewed as well, but I guess I didn't quite manage to get the same feel.

I think I can skew polygons well, but not so much curves...

Anyway, no ideas about the windows?

I like the style very much... just perhaps the house at the top is a bit large?2??2

It's supposed to be a warehouse, but I was a bit unclear as to how to draw the façade.

even with the skewed look, there is something odd about the blue building. It is leaning too much to right. Perhaps it would look better if you "bloated" it from both sides?

Not a bad idea at all, Babar...

Is that a Quiditch Pitch? :)

I think it looks pretty darn good ... I think with some shadows it'll look marvelous!

The only thing I noticed that bugged me a little were the windows on the yellow building.  The largest side facing.  They appear, to me, to be jagged a little.   Parts going up and down that shouldn't.

And the blue building on the top needs a little more details; windows, doors, etc.

Aside from those things, a great start to a map screen!

aussie

Oh no, no quidditch  ;D it's an aussie rules pitch (Australian football, that is).

Yeah, you're right on the windows bit. In fact, I'd like many more comments on the windows, if possible.

I'll see what I can do with the blue house.

Maybe to prevent the warehouse from looking like a house, change the roof's shape?
