CJ:

First of all, I would like to tell everyone at AGS that you have made an excellent Adventure Game Program, very easy, and fun to use! Bravo! I'm really enjoying designing my Game on this Program!

Now, for my problem, well, I'll let the Warning do most of the talking:

Illegal exception

x  An exception 0xC000005 occured in ACWIN.EXE at EIP = 0x7C92AE22 ; program pointer is +200, ACI version 2.62.772, gtags (0,01)

AGS cannot continue, this exception was fatal. Please note down the numbers above, remember what you were doing at the time and notify CJ on the Tech forum.

Most versions of Windows allow you to pres Ctrl+C now to copy this entire message to the clipboard for easy reporting.

OK

A few hours before I wrote this message, I tested my game and received this Warning that interrupted my game. Now, I recently made some changes to my game, and it worked fine, I was able to test the game and it worked fine.

However, in the back of my mind, there is a feeling of dread that this Warning may come back to haunt my game, and it might even prevent others from playing it.

Would you be able to decifer the strange Warning that appears in my game from time to time?

Feel free to ask me any questions you need to ask, and you can even E-mail me too.

Thanks.

What were you doing when the error occurred? Was it when the game started up, when you changed rooms, or was the character just in the middle of walking across the screen?

Have you seen it again since, or did it only happen the once?

Well,

I did download 1 of the AGS Program Plug-Ins that are available from another Website, I can't quite remember which one. The Plug-Ins included Snow, Fire, Flashlight etc. I wasn't able to make them work, and the files were taking a lot of memory on my program, so I erased them and put my Game Files in a new AGS Program. After that was when the problem began. Particularly when I was either building my game (scripts, rooms) or actually playing the game.

Very strange though, I just recently tested my game, and it worked just fine! No interruption...Hmmm...I'll keep you guys posted....

What do you mean, you "Put your game files in a new AGS Program"? If you attempt to transfer some of the files from your game folder somewhere else, it may well cause problems.
