As you can see, i used Aussie`s tutorial:

Unlike all my other art, i am quite proud of this, and am looking forward to making a game using this style. Id like to get some tips from Aussie, if he (or she?) can. The black things in the background are:
a) A curtain
b) A table with a pot and 2 candles
c) A tv

Hehe that thing sure is getting popular. Not bad, but giving the Seats outlines like that looks odd when the rest of the objects don't have any, might wanna fix that.

Be open, a lot of people here can comment much better than I can. Ã, ;D

I think it's pretty good. You got the "disproportion" pretty much right.

Some thoughts:

- Guybrush is a bit too close to the ceiling, also, the picture is almost as large as the couch underneath. This could happen, but it's unlikely.
- I would not outline those couches. Make each "face" of the couch of a different color, trying to be consistent with the light. You can have a look at the couches in 5 Days a Stranger or in No Action Jackson. They're excellent.
- Try to get a bit of shade under the couches too.
- I think the TV is too large.
- I don't quite see the deal with the blue corners. If you like them, that's fine, but I've never seen that sort of stuff.

But keep it up!

Remember, it's good if you take this style as a base, but you should ideally develop your own from there. You'll feel more comfortable that way.

I think you should get rid of that Guybrush painting. It just doesn't fit to the room style. Anyway, great stuff. Keep it up.Ã,  :)

-Removed the outlines
-Added some shading
-Made the picture smaller and moved it down a bit
-Removed the picture
-Made the sofas more clear to see

Aussies tut has been around for ages and yet people are still using it to this day.

byebye bandwith :P

Problem

You should use more different colours on the couch, now without the outlines you can't see them very well.
And unless you really need it, you shouldn't use guybrush, he really looks out of place. Try to draw the painting yourself, it will fit the style better.
Other than that, good work!

I don't know if it is me, but in the new edit, the couches seem to be suspended in mid air.

Other than that, it's very nice

IMO the left couch is pretty good.

Perhaps you should make the cushion a bit flatter in the right one. I think it's a tiny bit too "steep".

Also perhaps add a bit of contrast to the couches, so it appears clearer which "face" is which. Also make sure there's a clear spot at the top, to add some volume, otherwise it looks like the back part of the couch is a thin slate.

I think that's much better.

Now go off and draw your own background from scratch!  ;D

Here is another room:

It feels sort of empty, but i couldnt draw any good pictures to put up on the wall.

Not bad but why do those brown things (I forget what they're called) on the bottom of the wall get smaller at the top? It just looks bizzare. Also do you have to keep using a door that looks just like the one in Aussie's tut? C'mon go design your own door for goodness sakes  ;)

They get smaller because they are further away. I kept the same door from the other room (i didnt copy it btw) because it is the same door from the other room. It leads to that room, but as you can see that the design isnt the same.

Sorry, but the perspective does not work that way. If they are indeed that far away the carpet and walls also should get smaller. So I'd either make them smaller or just make the brown things the right size. And the thing about the door is it just looks to similar to the one in Aussie's tut, I was just suggesting to maybe try and make up your own door  :P
