Aww I don't realise it was today. I guess being out of school doesn't help much. Oh well, have fun in the name of charity

Awww... nobody here gives two flying sh*ts about Red nose day I seem to have gathered. Nothing on the radio, zilch on TV, squat at school, hell for the past 3 years I've forgotten there was such a thing as Red Nose day!

What and why is red nose day?

And I KNOW my post isn't in red. I don't know how and am too lazy to look it up.

Its not funny auhsor the scar is burning my forehead, well Zor there is some people who do care about others. DragonRose red nose day(another linkhttp://www.rednoseday.com/) is when you raise money for africans who don't have food shelter e.t.c "like what zooty said" by doing mad and crazy stuff, they sell red noses and other stuff and people take red as supporting the chairty

They raise money for projects in the UK as well as Africa. I'm actually watching comic relief on BBC 1 right now. Some pretty funny comedy sketches (well, if you like British comedy!). Money is mostly raised by doing daft things, and wearing red noses etc. I didn't really do much for it myself, but its a good charity.

Well Red Nose Day went right over the top of most people I know. It didn't even get a mention on the news as far as I saw, which I personally think is a bit sloppy. Just a few years ago I remember it being the first item on the news, and the cameras would pan around classrooms full of kids wearing coloured noses just to get on tv. Now it seems like no one could care less

EDIT: Yes, I know this isn't red, however I absolutely refuse to delete the 'u' from 'colour'. There are other countries outside the u.s...

Auhsor is actually probably thinking of a completely different Red Nose Day.

In Australia there is a charity day of the same name and symbolism, but which seeks to raise money for research into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome [the babies get red noses you see...it's really morbid come to think of it].

There's a lot of charities that do things like that though. Like yesterday, the Australian Leukaemia Foundation had their World's Greatest Shave (For the overseas users: it's where the foundation shave people's heads for charity). I think the symbolism of Red Nose Day is seen as more morbid cause the red nose is an instrument of comedy and clowning, and it really contrasts to the very unfunny symbolism for SIDS.

Bah enough red for today...

Yeah I guess here in australia Red Nose Day is a little different. I do recall it was about the SIDS thing. It must be a bit different overseas.

I dunno, it kinda passed me by without even noticing it this year. I didn't see any red noses for sale anywhere, and didn't see anyone wearing one. I'm sure it used to be a much bigger thing than this, it's a shame really.
