This is kind of obvious:

and this was my favourite scene in the game

"This must be a good time to live in, since Eric bothers to stay here at all"-CJ also: ACHTUNG FRANZ!

Helm and Eric... Whereas Flashback and Another World (Out of this World) are very beautiful, and fun games, I believe the topic's title is "Best point 'n' click graphics". Those two games, though they had adventure elements in parts, were played using the keyboard or a controller.

That being said, I really loved the graphics in Gabriel Knight 1 and King's Quest 6. Actually, basically all of the last VGA Sierra games looked amazing (SQ5, KQ6, LSL6, etc...).
I make music.

Ah, KGB (or Conspiracy as the version I bought was called, which featured Donald Sutherland as your character's dead father, appearing to give you advice when you wanted). Difficult indeed, and I think the graphic style is quite unique, especially the characters.

Now for the real reason I wrote this post. A very good review of said game.

Achtung Franz! The comic

I think they should skip the academic mumbo jumbo next time, and write so that simple people like us can understand.

Point n click is such a constrained term, so I guess I'll start posting pictures of WarCraft II ;)

I thought the graphics for Another World were awesome back when I saw them like in '92, and I still think they're awesome today.

Well, personally, I've always been very fond of Discworld II... :)

Other than that, GK1 and most of the early 90's LEC-games are on the list as well.

Good to see a rare mention of Captain Blood here. That game is super-stylish to this day.

First one that comes to mind for graphical loveliness is The Dig, for me. Some of the backgrounds in that game are sublime.

I agree with the kyrandia crowd, although for preference I like Kyrandia 2 more than 1... But I think this is only because of the order I played them. I think that later games like Mokey Island 3 and Discworld 2 etc are amazingly well drawn, but somehow a little less enchanting.

I like Lure of the Temptress too.

Captain Blood was pure genious, but I don't think I'd commit to saying it was pretty as such.

Depends, Cpt. I think it's beautiful, not pretty.

EDIT: also, the topic does read 'point and click' adventure games, but OotW was in many essential ways quite a bit more of an adventure game than most others, so there. Less so for Flashback.

Captain Mostly

It certainly was beautiful... But I decided that since even a piece of code can be beautiful it was more apropriate in this subject to talk about the pretty games... Elsewise I'd have voted for Dungeon Master and Heimdall 2 and to hell with the "they're not point and click adventures" comments.  := := := := := := := := := := := := := := := :=

Helm

Heimdall 2 is certainly a point and click affair, and it is very well made I agree.
