upgrade protocol?

i thought i'd upgrade to the latest official release,....minor question: should i delete the old version, or can i just install the new version in a different folder, and keep the old version?

i just keep opening a new folder, and move my game folders over.

Always keep the old versions (before the final game's released, at least). You may compress the old backups to save diskspace if you want.
