I was planning on making a game, where you would be stuck in a pyramid, so I opened my ol' paint program and came up with this :

I expected something bigger with more style.
Any comment, critics or tips ?

Khris

-more (& correct) shading
-fix the perspective
-get rid of the black lines
-add structure to the walls, it's a pyramid, so I assume everything's built from blocks of stone

Yes, at your picture I can't see any lightning & shading, but there are some torches attached to the wall. Try using more colors. ...and something is wrong with perspective. Check it out!

Oh, Khrismuc was the first. ;)

Ok, I tried to fix most of the problems ; fixed the perspective, got ride of black lines, added detail, but I ain't good making shading so there is none :( anyway here the link http://www.freewebs.com/arhok/RoomC1.bmp , tell me what you think of it. By the way thank you, I appreciate your help guys.

Well it is a good improvement I must say.
Except for the shading the 'doorway' I think it is, just to clearify. The thingy on the right wall isn't in good perspective (or am I being an idiot here, no I mean more than usual) but in all it looks alot better than before.

I think your bg might be really good. Very nice details, but... you forgot about shading (and lightning). What does it mean? Everything seems flat. As I said before, just try using more colours and their various hues to add the atmosphere. You know: make the corners darker, draw the shadows behind these plates laying on the ground etc.. Of course, everything in relation to the light sources, I mean these torches. The perspective isn't yet correct...

Uh... It's a good tip just to look on the real world. ;)

Anyway, read the "Tutorial" thread, http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=600.0 and search for perspective and shading examples.

Well... good luck!
