Object Specific GUI

I'm thinking about creating a GUI that would be similar to a VerbCoin, but rather than being restricted to just pictures of a mouth for talking, a hand for interacting and an eye for looking, I wish to add things like push, pull, open, close and some more specific ones related to puzzles or something... e.g destroy, jump, eat, punch, climb etc...

Each of these actions would be related directly to the object, hotspot or character. Should it be a character the options for talking and looking at would be available, and in the occasion fight.

With other things like a hotspot of a wall, the options look may be the only ones available, then you may go off speak to a character and he tells you theres a pot of gold at the top if you climb up, you go back and the new option of "climb" appears.

it's kind of a graphical text parser if you understand, where there are no limits to the actions that can be performed within the game only limited to the object itself.

has anyone got any help planning this out, coding it, theory and practicality issues?

I want to do this but I need your help please.

Let me know if you experience any difficulty with the scripting, as I already design and scripted a GUI for a game with exactly the same idea. :)

Cool, thanks Geoffkhan. I just need to get my head around the way I shall be doing this.
