Appropriate Size

hello,
what is the recommended size for the rooms i make?
i usually do 600 by 400, but they are a bit small.

Depends on what resolution your game's in, and whether you want the room a scrolling room.
For example, if you use 320x240, and won't use scrolling rooms, the backgrounds ashould be in 320x240.

i am using 640x480, and non-scrolling rooms.

Use 640 x 480 backgrounds then, that's just simple.
