character disappears in dialog

whenever my player has a with an NPC, he disappears from view, and his dialog does not show. The first dialog with an NPC works fine, but all others cause my character to disappear from view. Is there any way to stop this?

Because your information is quite sparse, we can't give solid answer unless you can give more details.
Is it possible that you had assigned an empty/nonexisting talking view to the character?

Something about the way he asked if maybe you had an empty view...and then you suddenly found and fixed the problem...without mentioning what it was. ;D
