Bearing in mind everyone's kind advice, I redid my main character sprite.Ã,  I think the change of skin tone makes a big difference.  What do you guys think?
My only concern is that it might be too big for the game.  Do I have to scale him down to match my backgrounds or is there some function of AGS that does that for me?  I still don't really understand how all this stuff works yet.

I really like it.  His expression is priceless, and I really like the hairdo.  As a side not, I think a walkcycle done in the "Egyptian" style would be the coolest thing ever.

I'm not sure if this is just your style, but the colours are very flat.  Even one darker tone for all the colours would add a lot of depth, IMO.  Also, you may want to keep the features lined up in the front and side views.  One thing I noticed right away is that the skirt thing is shorter in the left picture.

Good start, looking forward to seeing more in your style.

Great Work, Maybe try using the egyptian eye effect both ways.

I'm assuming those are his feet and not shoes of skin color. Why are the feet so pointy?

Also, the arm in the sideview is put too far. The skirt also seems a bit illogical. The frontview is from straight front, but the sideview is an angle. The point at which the two black borders on the skirt meet should be just slightly shifted to the side, not 90 degrees.

I think the arm thing is just a style and I like it, but I agree about the skirt. One the side view, there should be more blue than white.
