You seem to have a shortcut for any program on your computer Ã,Â :o Ã,Â Am I the only one who doesn't have shortcuts etc on my desktop?? The only icons are: Bin, My Comp, My Doc and IE as hidden in the corners as possible...

I don't have any icons on my desktop except "My Computer" and the "Recycle Bin".

With Windows XP, you get around using those really easy by using the start bar and also less icons equals greater speed.

I download everything to my desktop so that I can easily find everything and after some time it starts to look like that. Only 4,7 GB worth of crap at the moment. I'll clean it when I have some spare time...

Nope, CP, you're not alone - I can't stand having a metric ass-ton of icons on my desktop, and I also go for the minimalist look with my images as well. This one, from the comic Makuhari was on my desktop for a month or two, until the superhero comic competition, when I found my most recent. It dethroned Nara for a while, but he may return soon.

I don't have any icons on my desktop... I don't see the point, since any and all moving of files, copying, deleting, trashbinning, I do in explorer (the file manager). I don't feel comfortable with icons all over my desktop, it just looks bad.

Well I actually got a new desktop because of this thread. It was originally the lizards on both screens because I couldn't be bothered getting two. I havn't cleaned up the icons... I did that about a month ago and look how it is now.

Mine.

Pretty much all that's changed in the last 4/5 years is the OS (which you can't really tell), the resolution, the song playing, and the system tray icons. The desktop and layout is pretty much identical.

The wallpaper is from The Bird People in China. An absolutely awesome film I highly recommend.

Edit: If you're interested, I suggest only reading the synopsis on that site and the first half of the review. They tend to describe the entire movie they review.
