Cool.  Too bad they aren't releasing other, older games...I wouldn't mind a collection of the more esoteric games.

Wow, they're also releasing a game called, "the Apprentice" based on the Donald Trump show.  Oh how the mighty have fallen...

PaulSC

If these really have every single game in each series i'll just have to buy them all to hell. I've still only ever played a handful of Sierra adventures.

Esseb

Anarcho: Vivendi Universal has ever been mighty? Or do you confuse them for old Sierra?

Al_Ninio

Perhaps he means the mighty Herculean Effort.

I'll need to save up money, but i do need to get all KQ and LSL's that I've missed (don't have anymore). I hope they make a trend of this and start releasing more old but good games. I wouldnt' mind a Doctor Brain Compilation.

So do you think these will be released without all the bugs that older games have when we play them on fast pcs?  I have all of the King's Quest games (even the ever so crappy Mask of Eternity) but there's all kinds of bugs... especially in the older ones.
The hardest thing in this world... is to live in it. (Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers in "The Gift")

Potch, i'm assuming it's gonna be like the Kings Quest Collection that came out a few years ago. I think they were made to run on todays machines.  I can run all the games in the Kings Quest Collection pretty good with no troubles on my current PC that runs Win XP. (well, there were a few issues with some of the games not running right in certain resolutions, but other than that, a-okay)

It'll be nice to see them re-released but I doubt it's legit.

Mr Jake

Yes. Amazon.com have a nasty habit of advertising made up games.

How curious. Two KQ collections. ANd if you buy them both, you don't get as many games as you'd get if you'd bough ROberta Williams' Anthology.

Well, ok, you do get KQ8. Still...

Of course they manage to not shove my two Laura Bow games on either collection for an extra touch (didn't stop them before though). :(

I really wish I had the Roberta Williamson Anthology but I can only find it at ridiculous prices on Ebay. :S

Huh? Colonel's Bequest is in the second collection, innit?

Yeah it was on the second King's Quest collection. I have them both and they work fine in XP but I would've loved to have the talkie version of Dagger to go along with the talkie of KQVI which I also unfortunately don't have. If worse came to worse I'd buy that KQ collection but unfortunately it's probably still overpriced on Amazon. :(

doesn't look like they ship software internationally unless I'm missing something

So it's not really much excitement unless you live in the USA.

but I suppose it may bring down the ebay prices

I bought System Shock 2 in the UK, from amazon.com in the US.
Of course, they may have changed the rules since - that was 1999.
Still waiting for Purity of the Surf II

Potch,
most old games run quite well with DOSbox.

And D-Fend is a good front end to set up the environment of a game
