Hey,
i'm a huge fan of the Driver Series. I've completed Driver, completed Driver 2, completed Driv3r, found every secret in Driver, found every secret in Driv3r and posted in countless Driver/Driver2/Driv3r forums. Now i'm bored. Does anyone know if and when a Driver 4 will be made, and if any one has some concept screenies?
Cheers,

Well... Google is your friend, before you ask a question you should Google it.

But here's a link anyway http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/driver-4-working-title/

They look a bit grainy and blurred at the edges if you ask me.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!

Driver is cool, but I'm looking forward to Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. For those of you who don't know, it's a first person adventure/shooter set in the 1920's in which you are investigating a town called Innsmouth. Innsmouth turns out to be full of people who are part of a cult to Dagon, the fish-headed god of Sumeria who, for some reason, wears the exact same hat as the pope (hmmmm....). It is based on the Cthulhu Mythos, which, for those of you who don't know, is a group of stories originally written by H.P. Lovecraft and added to by such men as August Derleth. Cthulhu is an otherworldly demon/alien of such horrible magnitude that, were he not to kill you on site as he is propably most likely to do, you would suffer intense mental breakdown just by looking at him...
Ã,  Ã, And that is where the game gets cool/intense. It is billed as a FPS, but the truth is, most of the enemies you will encounter can NOT be killed by your guns... or anything you decide to throw at them for that matter. Running into combat, guns blazing, against an entity that has been around longer than the world itself is never a good idea. Thus, your best strategy is to RUN LIKE HELL! If you don't there are some seriously cool but terrible things that can happen to you. Your character, for one, will start to go insane. He will have hallucinations, see things and hear things, imagine that innocent townsfolk are really monsters.... Evil faces will appear to him out of nowhere, his vision will be blurred, he won't be able to see properly to reload his weapon or shoot... They aren't saying much more, since this is a revolutionary new concept, but I did read one thing that makes it seem wicked cool to me.
Ã,  Ã, The game reviewer had been in a firefight and gotten shot up a little bit. He was limping around because he'd been shot in the leg, and some horrific creature had bitten his left arm so it was taking him longer to reload with only one hand available. To make matters worse, he had encountered some huge, black, shambling mass on a rooftop and had fallen off, further hurting himself. As he was walking slowly away, trying to escape, he decided to open the door into a butcher shop. The creature he saw on the other side was an unspeakable horror, a pulsating ooze of long-decomposed human bodies and black sludge. Unable to control his character, the reviewer watched with mixed terror and delight as he turned his gun on himself.

Ã,  Ã, I think it should be fun and creepy. To learn more about it, go to www.callofcthulhu.com. It's made by Bethesda, the same folks who brought you The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind and the upcoming Elder Scrolls:Oblivion for XBox 360.

From what those screenshots told me, Driver 4 is going to be a car crash simulator.

With guns.

And 2 year-old graphics. Seriously, I never understood what made the Driver games so fun.

after having played driv3r i personally hope that they never make another driver game ever again, it's the most frustrating and stupid game i've ever played.
sure it looks good but it's an awful game with terrible AI, physics and bugs so obvious that i often wonder if they just made up all the names for the quality assurance department in the credits.
i failed one mission 5 times because of a cardboard box launched my way by some bad guys that were hiding behind them, i would either end up standing on top of the box then shortly lose all my health or be hurtled backwards.
i also failed several missions because tanner preferred to just look at the car when i instructed him to get in it (which i am informed is a bug in driver 2 aswell).
the AI also "cheated" in car chase missions and i have a saved replay to prove it, some woman on a motorbike managed to ram cars and trucks out of the way without losing control or being killed like i would have been.
they also seemed fond of taking the piss out of rockstar and gta when in actual fact they should have played the games and learned from them, and whoever thought of putting that "Speed" mission in the game should be shot from a high speed cannon into a giant fan.
the only reason i actually played the game all the way to the end is because i was determined not to let it beat me... oh and so i could listen to the repetitive loops that i assume were an attempt at a soundtrack for hours at a time.

The answer to what makes Driver games so fun, is the fact that instead of copying from games like GTA (i'm looking at you True Crime), it created it's own unique style, and brought knew meat to the table. For example, The Film Director feature, the interactive film experience. Driver 1 was one of the first 3D Mission Driving Sim.
Driver is also much more focussed on driving, unlike GTA, True Crime and The Getaway.
This Driver bashing sucks. If anyone wants me, I'll be in the angry dome!
