I miss that "Respect my authoritaaaah!" personal text under CJ. ;D

I also miss DGMcPhee. Where the heck is that guy? Loved his posts.

And I quite miss the art in "Neole's Thread".

I miss the me who missed the good ol' days. That guy was awesome!

If I had to say I missed anything, though, it's when I was a member for this forum, but was busy working on my game. Now it seems, I spend too much time reading posts, then working on anything. Damn community just sucked me in.

Timosity

The only thing I remember from ezboards was Spyros, I never posted there but I found a buch of games to play, and got any info I needed from just reading (I thought it was too geeky to actually post) and thought people who posted on forums were a bunch of geeks with no life outside of a computer.

I gave into that when I released my first game about 3 years ago.

Standout things I remember in my time

*every few months people complaining about how good it was in the old days, and how it's gone down hill

*kickme - I think there's been worse people since, and he was driven by a few members here, entertaining though

*RPGcreator - there's an eg. link in my sig, I often wonder if it was someone's alter ego, it will always be a mystery

not a lot really, you boring bunch

I hate the good old days.  They just remind me of how old I am.

Lol! Who knew professors of Economy were so foul-mouthed!

This is one of the few forums where a troll would get this kind of reaction, and end up being a really funny thread!
Play pen and paper D&D? Then try DM Genie - software for Dungeons and Dragons!

Pessi's paintovers in Critic's Lounge.

Ooohhh... I miss them sooo much! It used to be the best thing in the Critics Lounge. Somebody posted a fairly decent bg, maybe somebody gave some pointers and then... BAM! Pessi posted a seriously whoop ass bg, redone from scratch, just totally excellent, making the poor sod's
(who posted the first picture) version fade away in comparison. He must have had so much free time back then. I especially remember this bar that somebody drew, that Pessi just whipped together a top notch version of. Full of good pointers.

Thank's for mentioning Petteri! It brings back sweet memories!!

LimpingFish

I miss the scene from Space Quest 4 being the demo game.

I miss the weird visual scripting thing in AGS (Well...)

I miss Pumaman being Aztec Guys friend...

I miss the time I joined years ago, never visited the forums, had my profile cancelled due to lack of use, then joined again...

I miss not knowing who any of these people were...

I miss...my youth.  :'(

Paper Carnival

I don't really miss anything, but that's just me. When I joined the community (about two years ago) I was immature for it, but I'm getting better. I think. So now I'm actually enjoying the place more. But I suppose if I lived the "old days" with the age I have now I'd love them more, because they sound quite fun.

Harvester

I miss those Greeks, especially Butcher. Every single post he made was priceless, not to mention his games.
Bah, they are probably too busy celebrating the basketball title.
None shall pass!

That RPG Creator is still one of the funniest things I've ever read. Maybe I just have a strange sense of humor...

Sounds like my cue to stop lurking once again. Yea, I remember the days of the old, days when Gilbert was still making a game, days when Andy still was unknown, days when you could play games like Demo Quest 1. Man.

Oh yeah, and that when you had the place walls instead of walkable areas, that rocked :D

And when AGS still was Adventure Creator. (What's that, they changed the name??!)
Still working on 8-bit stuff, mostly NES and Atari 2600:

Hey, I remember that too.

I wonder why the hype for Run Hot that effective... Well, at least people will still remember it when it does come out, no matter how many years it takes.

Anyway, I also remember most of the stuff everybody was talking about. Except visy. Thatwas before my time, man.

auhsor

Hehe I remember the Chis this because that was my friend doing it. It was funny seeing it from the other side as he was writing it too. It's given me a good chuckle looking back.

I think the good old days are always going to be relative to who you are and when you joined. I remember coming at the time 2.2 was out. I had a go of it and asked a bunch of questions in the old ezboard forums. I never did finish that game (or any since :/). I also remember setting aside a whole afternoon to read the manual... Those was fun times. I don't remember heaps of the ezboard days, but I do remember reading the whole Secret of Monkey Island post and wanting to post, but not wanting to ruin the topic by writing something stupid.

I also remember when I first discovered that the forum had more than one boad... ie not just a technical forum. That was a big day for me :P I only remember the topic Pepsi vs Coke.

So yeah I guess the community goes throught stages and It's all good. One day I might even finish a game.
