Hehe no, as far as I remember it explains it in the anime. But the comics are so much better than the anime you'll want to die.

I will say that I do like moviemistakes.com.   I can learn a bit while reading them, for I really do like making movies, and it can help me look for common mistakes in movie making.

There are many errors in the Dumb and Dumber movie, but that doesn't stop me from loving that movie till the day I die.

One thing I do hate about moviemistakes, is that some are actually not mistakes, but theyre posted there. I don't feel like registering there, but it erks me when people rant about some 'mistake' and its not really one.

Wow.. it costs 10 bucks to register there. I think not. I wouldn't mind being able to share my look on the scenes, such as when

which is a solid mistake, but then when they complain about

that the bartender gives lloyd another beer, the error reporters didnt notice the bartender take one away..

and now that ive gone through the moviemistake page on Dumb and Dumber, that error isn't there anymore. And I do see that some are edited by 'moderators' to detract the error.

Overall, I do like the page, and listening to mistakes, in general, but I suppose there are some movies that I don't want to hear about mistakes, like, maybe Jurassic Park, but then again, I can just pick up on some mistakes by myself, so, if I guess, if you don't want to know about them, stay in the dark. But for an aspiring director, I say bring 'em on.

I think the most important question you have to ask yourself is "does this really make the movie worse?"

Like for Titanic, when thousands of people report on how certain stairs weren't in fact positioned in that angle, or how one of the tea-pots actually was black and not white, etc.
That doesn't really affect the movie, that's just something for the know-it-alls to revel in

Again, I was actually thinking more of plot holes and inconsistencies. What I mentioned about Sleepy Hollow did hurt my pleasure in watching the film, especially as it was so glaring. And just the other day I was watching the most hilarious videoclip where the girl's dress's shoulder straps were alternatively both down, both up and one down and the other up and the other way around. Naturally I don't even know what song it was now.

And to get to my own examples again, my Discworld trifles were mostly about consistency - a good thing, is it not?

Besides, for how much longer will you be able to suspend disbelief in, say, Ben Hur once you've seen that

the main character has a wrist-watch at a certain point of the film?

Some things are nit-picky. Others actually do some damage - seldom serious damage, and many you'll only spot after having seen the film... but the others you spot AS YOU watch make you jerk back into reality and think in terms of actors and photography again. That's quite, quite damaging.

Besides, every sort of mistake deserves to be pointed out, even nit-picky ones. Everyone who cares about that sort of thing should know, because if they have a particular interest it might well be because they themselves undertake similar projects and want to know about the pitfalls to be aware of. The crew of Titanic probably paid a lot of attention to such nit-picking*, as it only helps them not make the mistake again.
