How would you feel about an Apprentice CD?

Would you buy it? I'm thinking it should it be sold as both a tangible CD and as downloadable tracks.

This would be completely re-arranged, high-quality orchestral music. Totally revamped. You would hear many recognizable themes from the game, but these would be complete songs with complete arrangements.

Opinions? Questions? Comments?

EDIT: To clarify, this would be a music CD.

We would certanLy buy it but we don't have credit card
What's all this "we" talk? Heh... well, I actually haven't played any of your games, so playing them all on a cd while being revamped would be a lot of fun.

- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

And all you really need to do is start a paypal account... it's probably even easier than using a credit card.

Ubel

I would buy it if I had money... but I really don't

edmundito

Might as well include the games, too.

... and Maybe... but don't be selling it more than $10, because then you start competing with record label cds.

Oh no, of course not... there's no reason to charge any more than $10.

However shipping can become a drag, both price-wise and time-wise, which is why I want to offer a downloadable option (probably a little less expensive too, but you wouldn't get the pretty CD case :))

Nikolas

I would buy it!

Shit! I would help with any orchestrations if you need any help!

But just to check on something.

I find that MP3 quality is nowhere near WAV/AIF quality as you know. So the downloadable version would be a rared/zipped folder with the songs in MP3 format? If yes I would have to go for the CD version.

An idea: I've said it elsewhere and nobody seems to really like it but I will try once more.

What if you find someone you really trust and give him a copy of the CD? This guy would live somewhere in Europe, thus he could take care of the whole of Europe shipping with minimum postage. And you could arrange the money matters somehow... I mean the Americans would buy from you straight, and the Europeans would buy from the European "dealer", and if you find someone in Japan or Australia do the same...

Have you sorted out the tax matters the go along this kind of move?

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

Honestly, I wouldn't. I've played the game through, and even the talkie version gave me little incentive to replay it - and even higher-quality music wouldn't persuade me to buy it. I'd download a new music.vox, though.

Of course Rui, you're right on one part, but one the other hand, having a DVD with a movie is not the same as having the soundtrack. And I would never get into so much trouble to hear my favorite tracks from a movie (or a game). I think this is what is all about here.

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

Ah, right. Silly me, I didn't really understand the question.

But I still wouldn't buy it. There's an "AGS Jukebox" for playing music-vox files. I use it to listen to KQ2VGA's music and I'd use it to listen to a new VOX, but I certainly wouldn't buy.

But that's just my opinion, accourse. Anyway, I liked the music but I didn't find it as memorable as, say, GK, which I listen to regularly, so it's natural that I wouldn't buy.

But but what about:

?

Though I probably won't buy it either, as it's too complicated here (and I never trust any money exchange thru internet), I had never played any of the Apprentice games anyway.

ManicMatt

While I loved the apprentice games and enjoyed the music, I rarely listen to instrumental music outside games/films, so it wouldn't interest me.

So don't take it personally. Even when I hear monkey island music it gives me a thrill, but I still wouldn't buy a soundtrack of it!

Pet Terry

I would possibly buy it if I found a way to buy stuff online. I listen to game/movie music EVERY DAY and having Apprentice soundtrack cd with printed covers and stuff would make me feel special. Not to mention other people going "??? What on Earth is this album? o_O" when they went through my cd collection.

??? What on Earth is that album?

:= Hey, it's from that reality TV show, right?

TheYak

I'd be more likely to go for it if it were CD-Extra style with Apprentice I and/or II on the disc.  I haven't played A1 in talkie format yet, so it'd be nifty to have a hard copy.  I'd still have to pay postage because I'm too bloody lazy to drive 10 miles. ;)

They don't include my country, croatia, in it, and that sucks.
