Yet another thread about beer, except now I can drink it legally

American beer tastes like ass. I'm told that this is because rice has been used with the beer stock ever since prohibition ended in the states so we don't have the full beer flavor that is supposed to be there. Even worse, this light beer craze is nuts. That stuff tastes like watered down ass.

It all gets me drunk, and quickly, but what're some good beers that I might find imported and in a low-point state?
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

After finding out how expensive it is to regularly drink good beer (microbrews and imports), I think you will get used to drinking ass. Call it an acquired taste.

At first I thought it was a topic about your birthday or something.  :=

Happy birthday :)

By the way; I think bear sounds bad, too (yes, have tasted it). Ice-tea or fruit juice are much better.

Ok. I've got to ask this: How much does beer cost in the States? Cause here in Uk you can get Carlsberg or Carling for 8 GBP (the 12x440ml that is). And in Pubs with 2 GBP you get a pint (around 500ml). What are the prices in USA?

Mr Jake

Teehee. I once paid £3.50 for a half-pint bottle of Carling.  Booze is expensive in the UK.

Nikolas

If you tried Peroni (the usuall bullshit Italian beer in Italian restaurants), then that's the normal price for it. But I'm pretty sure that in most pubs you can get a full pint for 2.25. And now I just saw that you were talking about Carling. Where did you get it 3.50? I mean this is a rip-off big time! And how old are you btw?  ;D Are you allowed to drink beer? I actually don't remember what's the age limit? 16? If so I'm sorry...

Mr Jake

... I never said legally ¬¬

Also, it was at a gig (Filming of Lee Evans XL - awesome act.), so I expected it to be expensive. But that WAS a rip off :p Thats why we only had one each :(

Nikolas

Ok. Since this thread is about beers I find that Heineken (which I love in Greece) is awfull here in Uk. The same goes for the bottle of Kronoemberg vs can. I find can much much better, I don't know why though...

Anyway I just wen to TESCOs and got myself 24 cans of Carlsberg for 11.99 GBP. That's a good price mate! And I got 3 in the freezer for later use  ;)

Or I could make it in my closet.  :D

A 12 bottle box of Budweiser select is $10 USD. Cheap stuff, namely Keystone, is half that but tastes so disgusting that I'd rather not talk about it.

IM NOT TEH SPAM

True, but the beer-ification process takes way too long.  I suggest moonshine runnin' with my cousin bo!

Nikolas

Well then, this is not so bad for a price.

It's approxiamtely the same price you get in the Uk and Greece. Approximately. And anyway how often do you need to drink beer. I have decided to go for a good/expensive beers (when my family is at home and have my wife looking over my shoulder) once a month or whenever we have guests. Otherwise I don't need a beer so much.

And definately I don't like beer for the alcohol. I actually don't enjoy the dizziness aferwards. [/parental control]

I can't believe Im writting this! Fuck!

In my local pub I think you can get a beer for about $3 AU. It tastes alright. (I think it's XXXX)

Las Naranjas

Homebrewing will taste better than Miller or Budweiser.

Bud is the second worst beer I have ever drunk [the worst was a Dutch chocolate flavoured one].

It's a pity about prohibition. The US had some of the finest brewing lineage in the world thanks to German and Dutch settlers, and prohibition wiped it out, leaving only the near beer brewers who haven't actually got back to brewing beer yet.

When I drank (I don't anymore) I preffered Keystone. It was cheap enough, and it have an easy taste that didn't kill you like Coors (poop).

I don't much care for beer most of the time.  In particular, don't like most of the more popular brands like Budweiser, Miller and Coors.  Corona can be alright, especially with spicy food (to kill off the semi-metallic taste of it).  When I drink it, it's normally Newcastle or Guinness, but I'm more partial to vodkas and rums.
