Display problems with AGS Editor itself

Hi, I have just started using AGS and it seems fantastic, but I can't read a lot of the text in the actual editor.Ã,  It looks like the text and buttons are too large to fit into the windows and so everything's overlapping.

I'm using Windows XP SP2.
I've tried fiddling around with the display settings in control panel.Ã,  I have made the screen resolution less, I have made the DPI setting less, and I've also tried to adjust the font size in Advanced appearance.Ã,  None of these affect the way the text fits into the AGS editor.

If this doesn't make sense, here are a couple of examples:
- In File/Preferences, the OK and Cancel buttons are cut off by the edge of the window, and I can only read the first line of "This directory will be the default folder which..."
-In General Setup, "Game name" is cut off by the the input box so it only says "Game na".

If anyone has any suggestions I'd be very grateful!

That's strange. I use WinXP SP2 as well, and it works fine here.

Can you take a screenshot, upload it and post a link here?

(Start AGS, press PRINT SCREEN on your keyboard when your problem is visible on the screen, open a program like MS Paint, press CTRL+V to paste the screenshot, now you should see your screen showing the problem as paint document, save it somewhere on your hard drive as JPG image, go to www.photobucket.com or www.illhostit.com or a similar service, select the path to your previously saved screenshot on your harddrive, click on "upload", wait until there appears a message saying something like "upload complete. the new link is: www.blablabla.com/image.jpg, copy the link by selecting it and pressing CTRL+C, come back here to the forums and reply to this thread with the link pasted in your post [CTRL+V] ).
Sorry if you knew all that already, I never realized how many steps it takes to take a screenshot, upload it and show it here.

Hi, thanks for your help.

I've actually just managed to resolve the problem.  Ironically all I needed to do was to restart with the following options: screen resolution 800x600, and the DPI set to normal.  Without restarting, Windows changed some of the display settings, so I thought it had done everything.  But I was wrong.

It's not a brilliant resolution for my screen generally so I guess I'll just have to change the settings and restart whenever I want to use AGS.  Never mind!

Again, thanks for your help - it's useful to know that about screenshots because I did have no idea!

As far as I remember, this problem can happen when you're using large font with window$, at least for older versions, or when you're using a window$ that's not using western languages as default (like me), in which case some of the text might be off since there may be slight difference in spacing in some of the font characters.
