Iiiiiiiiiiiit's Christmas! Did anyone work on a Christmas game? I did - a small two man project but as always I think I started it a little too late because it certainly isn't finished today :( I knew of some other Christmas games being made (and not being talked about ;) ;)) but....there doesn't seem to be anything in the completed games forum (apart from MAGS games) that suggest SPECIAL Christmas games!!! Anyway (plug) keep an eye out for Michael Michael's Merry Christmas, it should be finished in a week but it certainly won't be Christmas by that point..

If you ARE working on a Christmas game, will it be out today? Or tomorrow? Or next year?

And anyone thats made a Christmas game before, what exactly are the pressures? Its one deadline that all amateur developers have no control over - yet many still try and meet it :) I made a game in the past and again this year, but I've found on both occasions that I've started too late. Next year, I'd try and start in October. This may be due to expansion of ideas during its development or just not getting enough hours of developing in...

I'm working on a christmas game. It will probably be out next summer. :D

Yes, I'm very slow at game creating. (You probably know what I mean ;))

I did a few animations for this game too. And the icons, and one inventory object.  :D

I designed the character Erwin plagiarized  ;D.  And did most of the animations for him.  But then they scaled him up to impossible size:  Scale down the background next time, guys! :)

I haven't finished the "best adventure game ever" yet :P It's quite nice!!! I've been playing for a little while and still haven't completed it. Even though the sprite looks a bit odd in the screen res and walks increeeeedibly slowly + no walkbehind by the staircase....its good! But then there was mention of a patch ;) Do credits feature anywhere? Are you efforts announced? Perhaps at the end of the game, I guess?

Cool! And thank you young man for your Christmas card :) Wish I had the decency, patience, time & ability to have sent you & everyone one in return, but it was greatly appreciated - thanks Erwin! And just for your record, can you replace my email address? mark at barnett really is NOT a good one (I get sooooooo much spam and I just can't stop it. I had 3 decent emails out of 354...not a very thrilling filtering process I'm sure you can imagine!) so please feel free to add speilbergjnr at hotmail.com :)

(PS - I like the way it filtered txt style speaking, and didn't actually change a single word :P)

I made an x-mas game a while back called 'Jingle Bells' if you head over to http://www.magintz.com/ you should be able to find it. I found that because it was a set deadline I had to let most of my ideas go. I spent a week on characters and planning then 2 weeks on the game.

I'm planning on making an Easter game so I may start now :D
When I was a little kid we had a sand box. It was a quicksand box. I was an only child... eventually.

There's an updated, less buggy version of Christmas Quest available now. Same URL as before.
