This is a very simply background, based in the true cafe of my highschool. Well, I know that the coke machine don't have the correct perspective. I'm solving thisÃ,  ;)

I need to convert this clean room to another messy and dirty one.

Also, I don't know how to make the window besides the door.

thanks

PS!sorry for my english.

Judging by the tiles on the floor, the door is very very far away from the tible... the size says it too. Is the cafeteria truly that empty?

I don't know about your cafetaria, but we ussually have more then 1 table. Also, you could add some chairs, a clock, posters, cooking stuff for behind the table, etc.

Try to make some more life in it, now it looks like an abandoned basement which has not been used for several years.

Very nice shading though at the upper right corner.

I think your on the good way, but just try to add some more stuff.

Looks quite good so far.

Things I noticed:

The blue door just looks.. weird. The grey thing is stairs?
If that is the case they kind of look like they're receeding into the wall instead of popping out of it. As others have said it looks a little empty. Last oddity I saw is that the draws don't appear to have any depth. They look 'flat' at the side.

Looking good, try and fix up the little nagging things and you'll have yourself a cool background :)

To me, the shading and texturing is a bit superfluous and doesn't really tally with the outliney general style. I personally think that it would benefit from being clean throughout - more cartooney. Of course, without knowing what style characters you intend to place in the scene, that may not be at all appropriate :) But I do honestly think you've got a bit of a two style clash going on there.

Perhaps if you reverted to just the black outlines and then block filled with flat colours (incorporating lighting), you might find yourself in a better position to judge how far to take the texturing.

The composition of objects is nice, maybe adding some chairs and posters to the walls would make a positive difference..

I dont understand why a school cafetaria must be dirty.. but it seems to me that its already dirty.. this isnt clean like you say..

also.. change the outlines in a darker color of the inside.. get rid of the black outlines!

Thanks guys!

Well, you're right with the black outlines. I would try to repaint them.

Ok. I think I have photos of my cafeteria... It was a big cafeteria build when Picasso studied in my High School, so, figure, it's very old. Since that, the only improvement in the room were the fluorescent lamps and that brown square with a door and a window, the new kitchen.

I remember of my cafeteria the "tortilla" and fried inkfish smell and the dampness of the walls. I want to give my picture this ambient... I think I would try to add a smoke cloud and grease stains at the walls... Also papers on the floor.

Reminder

there is a scanned first design of the cafeteria, with the cash, the croisants (if you could notice them...) and a poster.
I think that the scanned images aren't recommended for backgrounds in many cases, like this one. What do you think?Ã,  :)
