some pirate MMORPG at miniclip.com Initial download 28 MEGS!
Takes about 7 minutes over broadband (as per site)

HillBilly

Don't you have to pay for this to do anything that's even remotely fun?

Afflict

MMM i dunno but I am looking into it after the 28 meg download there is another download aaarrrgh!

But ill update the thread for you guys! You can pillage and pluner! Arrrr.

ManicMatt

Yeah I'll let you find out and tell us if it's any good so only one person has wasted their time on it (you) if it's no good!  ;D

Afflict

LOL

Yeah I have broadband so not to phased about checking it out and taking one for the team.

Mr Jake

It looks like yahoo puzzle pirates, but its not :p It seems to me like its a free rip off.

Afflict

Well 50% into this download well see soon enough if it is free or not crap or not...

Ishmael

There was no other download after the 7 min one.. (I have a feeling they've trimmed it into 7 mins ¬¬)

The game itself is a bit confusing to me. I want to go beat some type of monsters or something, but not by playing a wonky tetris-ripoff...
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

Mr Jake

Without puzzles calling it "Puzzle Pirates" would be a little silly. Its ok, its free and works and all, but just like Yahoo puzzle pirates, its boring.

I'm pretty sure this is written in Java. And the game's actual website is www.puzzlepirates.com

I used to play this a lot, back before there was any kind of payment involved. It has its pros and cons, but eventually I lost interest (i.e. decided it was taking up too much of my time).

I liked the community aspect of it.
I liked the puzzle games a ton.
I liked the visual feel to the game.
I liked how you had to develop a crew with people who were good at different things. There were people who were good at one task that I found ridiculously difficult. And they were amazed at how good I was at the stuff they sucked at. Teamwork, blah, blah, etc...

I disliked the economy and the way shopping worked.
I disliked how your clothing and weapons would deteriorate and eventually fall apart or break.
I disliked how slowly the game would respond to my clicks.

most if not all flash mmorpgs are crap. wow kills them all.

Afflict

I liked it alot and agree with erenan on it in pretty much the same asspects except the fact of economic its great!

Erenan

The problem I had with the economics was with how long it took stores to make the goods for you and how impossible it always was to find a store that actually had the materials to make what you wanted. It can't be that hard to make black cloth, for crying out loud!

If the put together a decent flash MMORPG I'd play it. But I can't seem to find one.
