Help/Bug, Character move to wrong co-ordinates

I've just started with AGS and so far I have a very simple lay out with rooms connected using the yellow line method.  The problem is :

This only applies when leaving a room at the top

When the character "barely" crosses the yellow line (by just a few pixels) he moves to the next room but about 50 co-ordinates below where he should. (which is below the screen, so he is stuck.)

This doesn't happen if I tell him to move well beyond the yellow line.  I have moved the yellow line and it doens't appear to matter where it is.  All of my "enter new room" commands are "(at specefic coordinates)"

Any help is appreciated.

Hmmm could you try moving the bottom edge (yellow line) of that next room a couple of pixels higher and check if that happens again?

I tried that but it didn't work.  I did discover something though.  It only seems to depend on the y coordinate I send the character to.  Anything lower than 238 (higher on the screen) is fine.  Anything lower bugs out like I said.  But an added thing, around 230-238 for the setting something odd happens, the character goes to the next room but his actual coordinate is around 275, but since this is still walkable its not as big of a problem.

I'm wondering if its not the editor at all, but just my computer running the test game.  I'm using a "widescreen" monitor (1280x800 nattive).  When using 640x480 backrounds (game mode 640x480) I don't see the top of the room, but when I use 640x440 backrounds the room scrolls (to see the bottom) but I still can't see the top 10 pixels or so.

Thanks again.
