quit bug, windows engine 2.71 (winXP Prof.)

If I exit an AGS Game (it doesn't matte which one), the icon of the game stays in the control bar. When I click on it, nothing happens! And I'm only able to close it with the "Task Manager" (don't know if it's the same name in English).

One possible cause of this is that the graphics engine or the music engine failed to shut down entirely. This is usually caused by outdated or mismatched DirectX DLLs; I used to have that problem with many MIDI-using applications.

I use DirectX 8.1 or later, isn't that new enough?
My drivers aren't old ones too

Yes, I've had some games (both AGS and otherwise) hang upon closedown, because the DirectX MIDI player would not shut down. Ctrl-alt-del solves the problem, and it doesn't occur with 'standard' players such as WinAmp.

If I start a game from the editor, this doesn't happen!
It only happens if I start a "compiled" game....

But it may be that midi is the cause, because I never used MIDI-music in my games, and all the "compiled" games had midi-music....

If you save your game in the editor, and then run it manually from its Compiled folder, does the problem happen?

I ran the game from the compiled folder and it didnt happen.

IMPORTANT: I insert a midi-file as music in my game and ran it from the compiled folder: the error didnt occure! so it seems that midi isnt the cause of that!! (EDIT: and of course I quit the game when the midi-file was running...)

EDIT: I found a game where the error occurs! Maybe it will help you if I post it. It is a German game, but in the main menue just click on "Leicht" on the right top of the screen and then wait until the first cutscene is gone. then press f5, click on "Beenden" (it means "quit") and then press "J" (the German word "Ja" means "Yes"). And now, the error occurs!
