Setting default programs.

I recently installed Paintshop Pro on my computer, then I recently uninstalled it.  All bitmap files were set to automatically open with PSP (not by my choice) when I first installed it.  Now that PSP is gone, when I try to open a BMP file, the computer still tries to open it in PSP.

What I would like to do is set the default image editing program as MS Paint.

I've searched google, and didn't find anything helpful.  I've tried to use some of it's advice to changing keys in the directory, but I don't really know a whole lot about the directory.  Most of the advice I found was for Windows XP, my system is Windows 98 (SE?).

So, how do I go about doing this?

Hem, if I understand correctly you can do this by right clicking on a bmp file, going to the bottom 'properties' and selecting the program you want with te "open with" choice. At least in Windows XP this should work. But don't know aobut 98...

Click My Computer, then "Tools>Folder Options".
Go to the File Types tab. Ã, Find the BMP one, and choose "Edit" I think.
They'll be a bit saying "Run with.." or something, saying PSP.exe. Ã, Change that to Paint.

EDIT:
Nikolas.  "Open with.." is quite a few places above "Properties".  However, that said..
Hyde:  To get "Open with.." like Nik' described, hold down Left-Shift, and right click a BMP file.  (It could be left-ctrl, i can't remember precisely).

Actually spleen, at least to my computer, you have to enter the properties and find the opens with option, under the general tag.

I tend to use RegEdit, it's the only thing that always works.
