MAGS Awards??

I just thought of this right now that why issent there an award for the MAGS winners?
Like... a trophy..

just a thought.. I am at least thinking of making one myself.... '
where it just says "MAGS" on it.

What does everyone else think?

I thought getting to decide the next months quidelines is an award enough... I don't think there are any other awards, or trophies as you say, in any other competitions either.

I think they just started with it in the sprite competition now....
bolought at least did thropies and as I understood it looks like the person who set the "topic" also will be doing trophies....

It would be a nice idea, giving (pixel?) trophies to the MAGS winners. Of course they need to be a little unique so nobody can alter them easily...

Hmm... is the awarding of trophies in the sprite jam ruining the wholesome fun of competitions?

I remember a psych experiment in which children were given pictures to colour, which they liked to do. The experimenters then started giving them rewards like candy for colouring, which was great for the kids, because now they had colouring AND candy. However, when the experimenters stopped giving candy, the kids no longer coloured... after they had became used to receiving external rewards, colouring by itself was no longer intrinsically motivating.

I don't want sprite jam trophies to become that candy!

(I'm sorry if this is considered a hijack of the thread, but I thought this issue was related

I diddent make this thread cause I dont think MAGS would be any fun without trophies!!

Cause MAGS is indeed just as fun without trophies as with I would think...
It's just that some people get proud of winning something, and would like to show it off with something right?
And I just thought having a trophy that people can put on their websites etc. would be nice. Or?

There used to be award ceremonies for MAG, which were fun animations made with AGS, however, due to the work and time involved they're not created monthly anymore.

He I took it upon myself when I announced buloght the winner to award him a trophy which i created using the sprite from his game and adding green leaves and a pedistal. The sprite all in all took me about 15 minutes.
Mainly just wanted to sprite something and well wasnt allowed to enter my own comp he.. so thats why i
did just for fun sprites and a trophy.

So yeah the guy that hosts will make the trophies or thats the current trend else make your own god damn trophy if you win. LoL

I made it just to thank the winner to enter my little compotition! So to me i just felt that i had to make one.
So far I would say its been a sucsess, and everybody loves them. Peder that cup looks kewl and yeah why not pop it in your signiture as a mags reward to yourselve.

why not make one trophy, make it blue. and put a little 1 on it. then if you win it, you get to put it in your signature. then, if you win mags again (like wretched did countless times), you make the 1 a 2, and so on. when you have won 3 mags, the blue trophy turns silver, and say 6+ mags win you get to keep a golden trophy in your sig. that way, your sig doesnt get cluttered up with trophies (only eon constantly chaging trophy), if you win multiple mags, like wretched.
