I've doctored the drink and everytime I go to enter the room the character stops and says thet he should wait for the doctor to be asleep before he goes in. I've also blocked the camera with the balloons.

I just went back inside the main character's room.  When I came out and tried again, there was a cutscene and I could access the new room

So I did the drink, went back to my room, tried the door and the guards stopped me. Left my room, put the balloons up, tried the door again - still I have to wait for him to be asleep

I couldn't do anything with the washing powder, the washing machine that's in use and the guy is still trapped, the character won't remove the broom

... once I'd spiked the coffee and the actor had given it to the doctor, I just wondered around and waited for a while, then a cut-scene popped up showing me that the doctor had fallen asleep.

Maybe try going back into your original room?  I think that's what I did.  Other than that, I dunno ... you may have encountered an unusual bug, because as far as I know, you've done everything!  (I've completed this game, by the way.)

Stuck with the same problem...
I tried everything, went back to every room, but nothing happend. Is there really a bug?
Restarted the game, and here I am stuck in the same place all over again.
What can I do?

Wow, I don't know what to tell you ... perhaps there is a bug in the game, since only certain people seem to encounter this problem.Ã,  As I said in my previous post ...

... all I had to do was talk to the actor about the coffee, spike it with the sleeping pills, then let him leave and give it to the doctor.Ã,  A short while later, after doing nothing in particular, a cut-scene appeared telling me the doctor was asleep.

Although I say "nothing in particular", perhaps there was something specific I did without realising it.Ã,  I don't know - this game is full of rather dubious gameplay design choices like that.

If the author of this game is reading this thread, perhaps he could enlighten us?

I encountered this same problem and I think the trigger might be that you have to try to open the door to the room the doctor is in (basically, I clicked every icon on that door).  I them received a message that "it's not the right time yet" (or something like that).  Then I walked back into the room where I started the game and it triggered the cutscene so I could continue the game.

I had to go into all the rooms again, not just my own, in order for the desired cutscene to take place... But it finally did, and I finished the game!

OK, this may be silly, but I'm stuck on a screen with a cd player.  I just talked to the jazz guy, and he told me to "put in the love" or something like that, and the screen went to a cd player.  Now I can't do anything.  I can't get out of that screen.  Help!

If you have a CD drive on your PC, it will open. Insert your favourite audio CD and press play. Press the buttons play, eject, etc. Don't know what happens when you don't have a CD drive, though :-)

Yeah, I tried several cds and nothing happened with any of them, and there seemed to be no way to bypass it, so I deleted the game.  I didn't like the interface anyway.  Thanks anyway. :-)

I've found the video tape but haven't found anywhere to play it. It doesn't work with the "large box" toward the top of the screen, which I was hoping was a TV but doesn't seem to be.

I also have the book, of course.
