How to do this:

Take the axe. Interact with it, then use it on the fence on the first piece of wood to the right of the "hole" in the fence. If you look where Sinitrena posted the game, you can see a screenshot where the piece of wood has been removed from the fence. That should give you an idea about where to do it.
And if you think this is an annoying puzzle - then I think that you're right

How do I solve the weird puzzle on the tree?

I'm stuck on the colour puzzle. I have no idea what I'm meant to do with it. Any ideas from anyone?

You have to move the pearls to the right positions (the background colour and the colour of the pearls have to match). The grean pearls in the ring, blue to the left, red to the bottom, lilac to the right and yellow to the top.
The easiest way to solve it is to move all grean pearls in the middle and the other-coloured pearls in the ring - and start solving it from this point.

I am stuck in the scene to the right of the lake with the river, rock wall and the forest. Can't seem to do anything that gets me to that symbol on the tree.

You have to leave the screen to the bottom, next screen to the right, next screen up and then left and you're in the same scene again but where the symbol is.
