I am playing v2.16. When doing the chicken race following the clues left by the chicken, the chicken does not leave a feather at the"sea" after talking to her. Also when I goÃ,  the "tree" which is the next place she says she goes, she is not there. She only comes back to that place when the time runs out.

have you finished the chicken race?  did you end up in the big nest and type in a word?  You will get something to enable you to get a new lite source using something in your inventory and also something to enable you to not have to use the feather anymore......Have you gone to lair and gone all the way in the back?  There is a thing in there that needs the sun. 

Where did the chicken fly?  House, East, Witches house, Igloo, Lair, Tree, Sea...... Take all the first letters and make a word that will get you what you need.

I'm at the part where I need to cross the bridge with the twin demons.Ã,  I have the bubble with their name reversed.Ã,  I try to put on the goldfish bowl but it says it's too dirty.Ã,  I've tried everything I can think of to clean the thing from getting dunked in the ocean, to washing it in the river, etc.Ã,  Also tried using all inventory items on it as a desperation tactic.

You're on the right track.  You need to walk to the edge of the wooden hand and then use one more item on the bone to snag it.  It should be in your inventory.
