Not sure if this is the right place to post, but oh well. How do I create a transparent background color? I looked in the manual for Paint but I couldn't find anything.  :'(

This is definitely not the right place for this kind of question.

As far as I know, M$Pain doesn't support transparency (neither Alpha channel nor indexed straight transparency), period (except when you're copy + pasting selections within it you can choose the "transparent" icon in the selection tools' options which makes the background.colour transparent.
So you need some other programmes for this purpose.

I also tried using the gimp for transparency but I don't know what to click on. Sorry if this is a stupid thread, I just don't know how to get rid of that ugly blue background!  :-[

If the original image doesn't have transparency, you need to add an Alpha channel to it in GIMP to enable transparency (Layer --> Transparency --> Add Alpha Channel , menu items may differ a bit in different versions of GIMP).
You can then just select a colour/a portion and then delete it or cut it to make it transparent, you may even use the eraser.

Thank you. I solved it.
