5 days a stranger

i am new to these games and have started playing 5 days a stranger,,,,i can pick things like the newspaper up but how do i view it when i have it? i was given a article by phil, picked up a map in the library ext..but how do i view and use these items?Where are they stored?

Thank you so much for the information, it helped, i had read the previous threads for hours but no one seemed to have the same problem,,, i loved the game
