That made me hink that maybe Zidane had to do it -- todays bureaucracy in sports, all the moneys and deals and stuff, like in boxing. Zidane was indeed a bit out of shape in the last 2 games, like something was eating him...

I think Zidane will stay quiet, if he does reveal what was said, it's only going to mkae him look more thin skinned, perhaps in his early 30s he can join that large part of humanity that learnt to ignore verbal bullying [and sap it of it's strength] when we were 10 years old.

Besides, the penalty for France was pure diving and it was only fair for Italy to win in the end. Throughout the entire World Cup, Italy has been the best and most solid team.

I guess you didn't see the match between Italy and Australia, Italy did the exact same thing in the 95th minute to get  a 1-0 lead and through to the quarters.

But their defense was very strong throughout the comp, before the final they only let in 1 goal and that was an own goal against the USA, the only other was the penalty from France (plus the 3 penalties in the shoot out, but that doesn't really count) so they didn't really let in any legitimate goals.


But this is the trophy that should have been awarded

I've always admired Zidane and I've seen him take charge and lead his teams like no other, and I don't think his behavior in the final totally erased all that.
