So, this girl in ICQ complained because noone loved her and I took pity for her and tried to solace her.
So, it came, that we chatted every now and then and she seemed to be really nice and sweet.
She lives in my vicinity and one day she asked: "Do you want to go to the Schützenfest?", (please don't ask me what this is) and I said "Sure!"
So I went there but she didn't show up.
She later told me she couldn't come, because she had a car accident and specified her injuries.
And trustful how I am, I believed her.
Today she asked me: "Do you want to go to the Brückenfest with me?" (please don't ask me what this is) and I said "Sure!"
When I arrived there, she called me on my cell phone and asked: "Where are you?"
- "Well, I'm at the bus stop."
- "Alright, I'm there in a minute!"
But she wasn't.
This is when I got suspicious, so I called her and now guess, who answered!
Yes, you are right!
It was her boyfriend!!!
And franky, I wasn't surprised!
However, I had to wait one more hour until my bus home arrived.
And here I am!
Slut!  >:(

Did you ever stop to think that maybe a person you've mainly spoken to on a web-based format may not be completely reliable and/or did not intend for any meeting up to be instantaneously assumed to be a date?

Oh c'mon, don't start like that! I know her since a couple of months!
And keep in mind, that I was trying to meet her, dammit!
And I never assumed it was a date.
The point is, that she said, she wouldn't have a boyfriend and that she didn't come to the meeting twice.

Domino

When you called her and the BF answered, what did he say to you? Did you ask to talk to her or did he tell you she was taken and to get lost.

Becky

Talking to someone for a couple of months on the internet is nothing :P

Did she ever specifically say "hey i dont have a boyfriend"? :P Because otherwise, I don't think you have any right to call her a slut.

Isn't love generally what boyfriends are for, Becky?  Also, it seems like a rather classic case of someone trying to lead a double life.  I wouldn't worry about it Thomas, people like this exist everywhere and the key is just to keep that knowledge in the back of your mind and avoid situations like this for your own mental well being.

slut Pronunciation[sluht] Pronunciation Key
â€"noun

1. a dirty, slovenly woman.
2. an immoral or dissolute woman; prostitute.

from your description she isn't a slut. she's just a person on the internet who isn't very reliable or serious it seems. "Jerk" fits better.

I like how people think that Internet friendships are like real friendships. It's cute.

I've met ags people in real life, but people you randomly chat to on irc or any other messenger... It's just not gravy baby.

Listen to Becky. She is a girl. She knows stuff that guys don't. And she is cool as well.

And listen to me. Because I am Layabout.
I am Jean-Pierre.

And remember: all girls think the same!
Actually, I HAVE worked on a couple of finished games. They just weren't made in AGS.

Scummbuddy

I keep trying to go to meetups with people from this forum I hang out at, AGS. I say I'll come, but then there was this Eric kid, see, he gave me the wrong house address, probably on purpose, and so it ended up me knocking on someones door at 10pm in the middle of the woods and the woman who answered didnt look too happy. I probably scared her, but it was the address I knew, and there was a TV on, so I figured maybe it was a bunch of these geeks who make video games, well, it wasn't. So I had to drive around, asking restaurants if they had seen a bunch of foreigners recently, but they all said no. I was beginning to think that this Eric fellow was a slut and that I had made these three year relationships out to be one elaborate joke.

Well, they FINALLY came out from behind a couple bushes and started shining flashlights in my face. Asking me odd questions, such as "Do you know Jesus Chris?" and "Where is your Blue Cup."

After the intiation spanking, I really didnt feel like I belonged. I estranged myself in the house by videotaping their odd behaviors as to place it on the interweb for everyone to witness their cruel behavior. But instead I got him back and parked my heavy jeep on his lawn which was wet. Haha, Mr. Eric. I made four tire marks on your yard. The ball is in your hands now.

- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

I've met girls off the net, and they were nothing like they were on the net.

I try to avoid getting into some kind of "internet relationship", and just be friends with people. Sure, there are at least three girls in the world wide web that would happily be my girlfriend, but they haven't met me so how can they be so sure? (And why are they always in other countries dammit??!!)

m0ds

Sorry you got caught up in shit like that, Thomas. It happens - but you learn from it. You learn never to trust the internet!!!

Still, you can probably find more trust worthy women at adultfriendfinder.com... ;)

Helm

You had my sympathy until you called her a slut, really. I don't see how she's a slut. Her behaviour was misleading, she took advantage of you, but she didn't behave like a slut, for example sleeping with you and then cutting you off and then doing the same to your dad the next day or something.

This should teach you a lot about shielding yourself from people, but it doesn't really say anything about internet relationships besides that they're hard. Well, no shit. All relationships have their hard parts, internet stuff focuses on getting rid of the 'internet' part eventually, while the various issues with real relationships are scattered but numerous as well.

maybe she was at both locations you were suppose to visit, but hiding somewhere, she first wanted to see what you look like, and the second time she just wanted to make sure she was looking at the right person previously, and then she asked her brother to call you and tell you to leave her alone.  :-\  ;D

and 2ndly, maybe there is a reason a girl has to find a boyfriend on the internet.  :o which is usually a good enough reason for you to stay away from an internet relationship with the girl.  :o

What are you saying about Thomas VoàŸ?  :'(

DGMacphee

I agree with everyone else. She's not a slut.

She's either a hussy or a trollop. I can't make up my mind which. You can choose.

Really darling? Come then closer and I'll give you the luv you eager sooo...

If you don't show up you'll be a slut! Just so you know ;)

First: I don't think that after getting pranked like that, Thomas VoàŸ actually cares if slut is a right word and if people appreciate him calling her so. I know I wouldn't care. And I think that it's just his way of expressing anger.
Too... radical, IMO, too. But this thread is not for getting a free behaviour lesson, but a story how a lesson was learned.

Second: I somehow think also, that girl was somewhere near and just watched Thomas. That second time, she maybe brought a friend to show him Thomas, or that girl's just a moron who likes to sit, watch & giggle. Or simply too shy!

The thing would be much more serious (it wasn't, right?) and cursing more justified, if her so-called boyfriend met Thomas instead and introduced him to martial arts....  :-X

So, beware of pranks like that.
