I totally got a computer from my school dumpster and the janitor told me it works fine but the school is making room for the new computers. I have the tower and monitor. only problem is that there is no power cord. Does anyone have an idea where i could possibly find one free?
Other than just asking around...

MrColossal

go back to the dumpster repeatedly I guess?

Or try going to a Salvation Army or something and seeing if they have stuff there... Even so, I can't imagine power chords to cost more than 4 or 5 dollars.
"This must be a good time to live in, since Eric bothers to stay here at all"-CJ also: ACHTUNG FRANZ!

voh

I have about 15 of those lying around, from systems long gone, died and descended into computer hell.

A lot of people do. Just ask around, someone'll have an extra cable (since monitors always come with a new one, and you'll have one extra, since power supplies sometimes come with one, and you'll have one extra, things like that).
Still here.

Wow you're lucky! My school is always throwing equipment away, but they never let us take it. I have to sneak the stuff out under my jacket if I want it.

MarVelo

i found a cord from my friend. but thanks.

Phemar: dumpster diving isnt against the law and i was leaving marching band, so other than "trespassing" i wanst doing anything wrong.

Or you could use an electric kettle cord. They are exactly the same.
