Well...

What the topic says.

Once more I'm calling for help.

There are a couple of forums (music related), which do not have the information of the number of members. And also they have disabled the member list, so I cannot find out. I've tired e-mailing the marketing and the admins adn mods and all that, but nothing seems to work really. I'm left blind.

I cannot understand for the heck of it, why wouldn't they want to advertise : we have 50,000 members (for example)... And why they wouldn't let anyone know about it... ???

Anyhow does anyone any idea on how I could go on obtaining such information? Maybe a site with info and charts about active forums? Maybe something else like that???

The forums, I'm talking about are:

www.soundsonline-forums.com/
http://www.northernsounds.com/

PS. I hope that it's not illegal to try and find out how many members are there. I don't plan on spaming or anything like that, whatsoever !

Thank you

Disco

Look at the number of your profile. You are member number 1604 at soundsonline-forums.com.

That's a good idea Jet... Thanks for that.

EDIT: Hem... how do I do that? ??? Can't find any info neither on my profile, nor in other members profile...  :P (sorry for being stupid...)

And this profile-number isn't going to tell you anything anyways. It counts deleted/banned members as well and only gives you a rough idea of how many people there once were when you joined, not how many there are now.

I don't think there's any other way than asking an administrator if they really did everything they could to hide this number from the average user. They probably did that for SOME reason, too, although I couldn't think of one right now.

I'm not looking for the exact number, but I can alwasy assume some things. Since I'm member #1604, already registered almost 8 months ago, this number must've moved up a bit... but it would be better to check a person registered this month...

The fact is that I'm looking for a gross number from all music related forums.

kvraudio.com has 100,000 (a little more but this 2% of error is not too bad for my purposes...). So the 1600-2500 error, is again kinda tiny compaired to the already 100,000 of kvraudio.

There is of course an error in this logic, but for my part, taken the numbers slightly upwards, due to banned, deleted members, is not bad :D

Still though I cannot find this number for me, neithre for other members...

This is you, right? I clicked on view profile. Notice [u=1604] (user 1604).

The other website doesn't let guests view profile, but if I click on a profile link the member number is shown in the address bar and then bumps me back to the main page. So you should be able to see member numbers.

Damn u auto text spelling!

thanks jet.

Never thought of that :p

Cheers, everybody...

In northern sounds I'm user 14,100 (or something close to that). now that's rather big! :D

Thank you all :)

EDIT: well... almost there. I got a response by both sites, saying that they don't let go of such information.

In the meanwhile I decided to do a small check here in AGs.

The latest member is u 6100 (or something) while we have 3331 registered users. This means that the user number is probably really out. I'll try other sites and see how it goes...

Either way thank you guys
