SafeCracker (2006)

I have one very specific question from SafeCracker (2006). Where should I go? (This question is not answered in the solutions pages for the game).

But anyway: From where? How far have you gotten? The first accessable puzzle is through the door on your left (immediately as you start), then straight ahead.

 Ã, Bless you! I am sorry, I only found these forums today for the first time, and didn't know SafeCracker was not an AGS game. Anyway, I am at my wit's end! I have opened every safe in the house except for the last three.
Ã,  Ã,  Ã, They are: the second door in the violet bedroom, and I already have one of the two keys needed. To get the second key, I need to open the chess board safe in the loft (which is the second of the three remaining safes.)
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  Then I will only have the very last safe to open.
Ã,  My dilemna is: I can get the solution for the chessboard itself, but have no clue how to remove the bars in front of it in order to get to the chessboard! I have looked all over, tried everything in inventory. How do I get those bars to move??!!!

You get a lever, I believe it's from the billiards puzzle.  Go back to the billiards puzzle and see if you forgot to pick something up out of that safe.  If it's not that one.  Look around in the other safes that you already opened.  You probably just missed it.
