Nine Toes

You're a goof, dude.

I must say, your music has really evolved quite a bit since you first added me on MySpace.  I'm starting to like it a lot more than that other arrogant prick... (What was his name again?... DreamUntilMyEgoDeflates...?)

So, I guess you got the last laugh, huh?
Watch, I just killed this topic...

SSH

Don't download this video, it's one of those contraversial banana-and-animal-involving ones that that other thread goes on about!

Spoiler

That should get you a few 1000 hits, Matt ;)

Oh yes certainly Mr Hyde! Infact I couldn't resist the other day- I sent a message to that ego-head that just said "I got a bit better.." and a link to the video. His reply? Was it "You suck!! I hope your dreams are burned into smithereens" or something like that, which he so enjoys saying? Nope. He said "What program do you use?" and that's it. ooh so little words from him for a change.

That's right SSH, it has LOADS of controversy! I'm racist and age-ist, and sexist in the video! I denounce all religions in the video and encourage children to play Manhunt and Canem Canis Edit! (Aka Bully)

PS - Tabitha from the band Joyzipper watched both my videos and liked them! Yay!!

PPS - Off-topic: The lead singer of Jesus Jones (My fave band EVER) sent me an email thanking me on my creation of the JJ myspace page! Double yay!!!!

And let's not forget all the canibus in the video. Or the random murder in the middle.
Or the burning cat.
The fediverse needs great indie game developers! Find me there!

And Adolf Hitler.

Seriously, jokes aside, I liked it. I gave it positive feedback.  ;D

After all the buzz, I fear to post this... But I didn' t really liked it. The tune was catchy, yeah, and you sing better than 99% of the population of the earth (including me, I sing worse than 99% of the people... :'(), but the images were a failed attempt of "art nouveau" for me...

Of course, I don' t think its soooo maravelous as some of the members, but for it' s light years away of being so bad to make me post in a trollish way that it sucks... That guy probably is an asshole, Matt.
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

ManicMatt

*Finds a wiki on "art nouveau"*

Eh? What's that all about! Nevermind I don't want to know!

I can't win everyone over Nacho, that's what makes us individuals! :)

Oh, and my singing used to be laughable. I just practised. A LOT. (I'm surprised I sung this song well!)

nihilyst

Cool video, and a really nice song.

Nacho

I didn' t find a better definition than "art nouveau"  :) Well, I meant modern art that not everybody can understand, like hanging an apple and calling the piece "War!" or something...  :) I would have gone into something totally crazy, like faking a live performance with unflatable guitars. But, as said, I still think that the troll is a cunt. Post another one asap, and I' ll be as honest as usual, so, if I like it, double joy!  ;)

About the video:

It is rather obvious that Matt, is no director. But I really enjoyed it, because he followed his instrincts and it paid off greatly imo. The thing is that (after chatting with him), I found out that the "fast forward" (to different modes), and suddent shifts of position and poses, which add greatly in the video, where done because he had to click on the mouse to stop taping. He was using a webcam to do the whole thing. And he managed to use this huge sitback to his advantage.

Of course, please, let's not compare his video with a video by Marilyn Manson (for example), as there is little reason (and I'm mentioning this becasue in an older thread people tended to compare his music with NIN stuff ;))

About the music:

I just like his music and the fact that he did practice (and it shows)
I like the fact that he ditched the heavy distortion stuff and heavy synths in the back.
I like the clarity and clear form the track has.
It is damn catchy!

Review over. (And no, I'm not getting anything from Matt ;))

petaglair

here what i think about the video:
you look like tarantino, assuming you shot yourself for this clip.

In terms of the quality of the video, I think it's a lot better than an early Ozzy Ozbourne video that springs to mind. I can't remember the song (although you hear it on the radio now and then), but basically the band just stands there and plays, and all these wierd 80's disco lights are flashing all over the place. Really just a terrible video (and I don't really like the song much either).

A lot of those 80's videos were pretty low-tech. ManiacMatt's video lacks polish, but I think it could match up with a good number of those vids.

Sorry Matt, it didn't sit with me as well as it did with the others. Not catchy, just repetitious. Not my type of music, I suppose. Oh well, maybe some day you'll sing something I will like. Keep practicing!

But this 16 year old can sing: http://www.anthonydelallo.com

nihilyst: Thankyou! :)

Nacho: "I would have gone into something totally crazy, like faking a live performance with unflatable guitars."

Come on now, that would suck! Or as Kryten from Red Dwarf would say: "That is an excellent plan sir, but with two minor problems. One: We have no inflatable guitars, and two: We have no inflatable guitars. Now I know I said the same thing twice, but I thought it was a really important point to make!"

Nikolas: Ah yes, I'm so glad none of my newer material has been compared to NIN! Thanks for the behind the scenes info! Hehe!

petaglair: Maybe for my next video I should have blood, drugs and swearing in it for that Tarantino feeling!

EagerMind: Yeah haha, I've seen plenty of dodgy looking 80's/90's low budget videos where they just play on some dull backdrop and that's about it! It's like it's live, but it's not!

rharpe: Do you like electronic music? "But this 16 year old can sing:" You saying I can't sing buster? Hehe kidding kidding! I never claimed I could sing well, but I have certainly improved. *Checks out the link* Ah yes, well I would never like this kind of music, and I don't like his voice (He can sing don't get me wrong), so I guess it's really down to personal taste. And who designed his album artwork? In WORD? Oh man! Someone should help the dude out there!

You're absolutely right. It's all about taste. I do not like electronic music. I did not grow up listening to it. And when I tried to listen to you it sounded very plain and boring. No offense, just being honest.

I don't care too much for the album looks either, and the songs are not my favorite... but the voice amazes me because of the fact that he sounds so much older than what he really is. Not saying you should do the same, just comparing the two of you.

Keep practicing, by all means. I'm not trying to discourage you in any way. Sing what you like and do it well, says I.  ;D
