Ok, this is a biggie, and I was wondering if anyone here could give me new ideas.

Some of you remember, I was in Spain, well Ibiza working at this German hotel for a month and a half, quit for some er... misunderstandings and left. This was during mittens. Anyway, my wage was 700e/month + accomodation and food, not a bad deal if you don't mind eating bad food and Romanians listening to house next door and a broken toilet. Still, I got pissed in my eye. I let them know I wanted to leave because of my employee, and they gave me 350 euros to cover my wage after they took off 2 weeks of practise and 2 weeks of who knows what. Then I left. I assume they covered some of my travel expenses, at least they said so.

The problem is, this is all on my account at Banco Santander central hispano or something. hear this. A month after I got home I got a letter stating I had 330 e on my account. So I contacted my employee and he said he'd take care of the transfer and the rest of the money. Later on he called from the bank, told me he had transferred all the money, the 330 and the expenses to my account in Finland. this was in September I think.

After that I've sent the bank e-mails, in English and in Spanish, none have been answered. I have sent my employee e-mails, they said they'd take care of it just before christmas. I thought they would, but haven't heard anything. earlier I contacted the Finnish consulat and the embassy in vain. All they said was it's between me and my bank. I asked my Finnish bank, and they said they can't do more than what I did. I think they should.

What most annoys me is, that even though money transfer should be easy now that I have all IBANs and SWIFTs and EU and all, but I see my only solution right now as travelling to Spain to ask the man at the counter. But then, I did that in Ibiza, and the guy didn't speak any English, imagine, in a place full of English people. Ok, so a 500 euros isn't that much, but for a student without a job it is. I could for example pay for the expenses of the trip back to my dad. But I'm hopeless. I even got someone to translate my e-mails to Spain since my English mails weren't answered.

So I was wondering if someone had any ideas at all how to get my belongings back without having to travel abroad, that's another 250 again, and then getting back the money would be kind of useless. If anyone has experience in banking policies or knows of such situations, or is willing to help me at all, well, I couldn't think of any other place after nearly 6 months. The bank doesn't even send me information related to my account.

Okay, I don't know much, and this won't be much help - but you can definitely challenge your bank against this. Possibly even sue them. I don't know but if there's some kind of trading standards organisation or one similar for banks, you should be able to get compensation. If its you're money you have every right to get it, and if they're going to be shitty about it, you have every right to take it to the next step.

Otherwise we could probably find you a member of Al Q'aeda who'd be happy to do something about it for you for a mere $10. :P

Just phone the bank and say to the clerk:

"Tu madre es muy buena en la cama."

Should sort you out.

I love Babelfish.

Spoiler
Your mother is very good in the bed.

Yeah, but the thing is, his mother wasn't that good, really :=

Ahhh, now we know why you're having trouble with the bank. Maybe you should try sending some flowers? :)
