But thinking about the fact that I'm finally going to get my paycheck this week does brighten the mood a bit.

The first paycheck from your new job always makes it 1000% better.  After that; a magnificent week, or a horrendous one; payday always makes it all unimportant.
Watch, I just killed this topic...

voh

I'm quite content working for state television, in the subtitle for deaf/hearing impaired division. I do good work, making it possible for those people to watch the programs, and my paycheck is insane in comparison to the hours I work.

It pleases me.

Also, I technically just browse the internet and watch Stargate SG-1 through dailymotion all day long.

I'm posting this from work, actually. Oooh! Gotta push a button! *walks away* 10 seconds later... *walks back* And I'm done again for 30 minutesÃ,  :D
Still here.

Yesterday was my favorite day since I started. At around 9 I asked Maria where Elizabeth was at...in my still extremely rough Spanish even with my 3 years of classes in high school, but with 1 1/2 (almost 2) years to let that minimal amount go to waste...

Maria told me Elizabeth wasn't there..."No esta aqui. Nada mas."

"Nada mas? Ella no trabaja aqui nada mas?"

"Nada mas."

Punctuation and gramatical errors aside (for those who didn't understand)...Elizabeth quit. I mentioned I got moved to graveyard shift on Sundays (by request), so I'll be off on Mondays and Tuesdays. I'm not sure exactly which of the two days it was, but apparently Elizabeth was denied early leave from work which is why she threw in the towel.

In addition to that it was also the slowest day since I started working, which means I got paid for doing relatively little work.

I also had great conversations with a couple of the servers. Females but they both have boyfriends (I think one may be married but I'm not sure...I do know she has at least one kid with this guy though)...so don't get any ideas. We were just talking. But it's nice to have friends at work.

Today was horrendous because I felt like crap. I was continuously breaking into cold sweats, and even though everyone else said it was warm/hot I was freezing. I took my lunch break, something I try not to do because I like to milk the extra half hour of pay...and I just didn't feel good at all. But I got my paycheck. After taxes and deductions $306.98USD. That's the most money I've ever had in my life mind you.

One peculiarity I noticed about the check though...it's dated for tomorrow. So when I was filling out the deposit slip at the bank I realized...I can't deposit it until tomorrow.

Since I'm working about 45 minutes away from where I live, gas is a big concern (in that it's going to consume most of my paycheck; not that I might not make enough). But it will be nice to have even just a little money.

Got my first job pushing shopping carts at the age of 16 (1989) at BJ's Wholesale Club. After a couple of years i moved in to the Meat Department where I continued to work until December of 1999, where I quit and walked out. (pay sucked)

February of 2000, I started a full time position as an engraver at a family owned trophy and awards shop. 7 years later I am still working at the same family owned business here in WNY.  This job pays great, and the owner is very generous. She pays for full health insurance and other goodies. It is a stressful job at times, and can also be alot of fun. But engraving is what i will be doing until I retire.
