I don't know if this is even the right place to ask this, but I've combed the web and come up fruitless, and every screenshot-taker experiment has failed me...does anyone know where I can find a King's Quest 3 style walkcycle example, not for a paintover, just to guide me on a new character I'm animating in the old 16-color style?  Or at least explain to me how to find a screenshot taker that will actually work in a Windows environment while I'm running KQ3?  Almost every one I've played with so far just takes shots of the desktop, and not in-game.  Thanks a ton, guys.

You can download AGI Studio and use that to rip the sprites.

Also, if you run an AGS game full-screen, the print screen button should grab it fine, and if you run it in desktop, try alt+print screen for a screenshot of this window only.

theres a program call fraps that can capture game animation... i used it with 6 day assassin when we tried to convert it to flash, you can set how many FPS you want to take etc, it worked best in a window rather than full screen the quality is a lot better
its used a lot in games like GP500 for online videos

the demo only records for 30 secs if i remember right and there is also a water mark across the top of the screen, but not in the way of walk type animation

Woot!  AGI Studio worked!  I appreciate all the responses, I just really wanted to see a frame-by-frame of Sierra's old timey walkcycles from KQ3 and earlier, for a possible game idea.  It's really instructive too, getting to see how Sierra managed other in-game animation and made it smooth, even with primitive graphics.  Muchas muchas gracias!
