Doubts: Stile, fonts, probably name too.
Maybe this will finally grow up in something.

Ugh, its just a plain text on a black background, maybe add some more story-based graphics to that? Make the text glow, draw ann egg under it or whatever..
I am just a shallow stereotype, so you should take into consideration that my opinion has no great value to you.

Style is good, but that's hard to judge without knowing more about your game/taking a loot at in-game screen-shots.

Fonts are good, but maybe try to anti-alias the edges (manually or automatically). They do work as they are, though.

Can't say anything about the name without knowing more about the project.

Another point of critic: I would make the New, Load and Quit buttons (ie. the font) smaller. They seem a little big.

1. Some edits.
Just different font

Different font + smaller buttons (thanks dkh for pointing out!)

2. About anti-aliasing. As this is lo-res game it doesn't look much better with antialiasing.

3. About the game... I'm revisiting an old project of mine.

Like what Radiowaves and dkh said its lacking something
What about an aspect of suspence

(((Ive just noticed the background text try making it a little bit more visible coz i cant see it on the forum, and i had to squint to see it in photoshop )))

Try making the NEW/ LOAD/ QUIT  and the FSI's more central

Also if you dont want to make the subliminal text any brighter maybe add a torch module to you mouse cursor, This may add some more suspense

Quick glow edit

I just tested this with 320-200 16bit graphics and it looked ok

Sinsin, thanks for your mouse-glow suggestion, I'll probably add some scripting to make it.

Mmm, no, not exactly what I want. I'm thinking of more, er, complex thing :)

If you're looking for a similar effect, do you have Paint Shop Pro?

The Animation Shop has a stained glass window effect, which will generate a very nice glow which will move along the length of the lettering. I can do an example if you like.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!

I like this one:

Your original was nice, I liked it. Simple and clean. This edit works on that idea well.

I'm not keen on the glowing or any images. Clean and simple makes a good menu background methinks.

Frankly, neither am I.

By the way, that's how it turned out to be:

There's only menu in the pack. I've added some glowing to the buttons, and if you think I was wrong then, well, say so.

I'd still suggest antialiasing the title. And for New, Load, and Quit, I suggest the original way, but a little more centred, with bullet-points.

Also, to me, the background text right now has just the right level of visibility (I don't know if you changed it after it was suggested). Another thing you could do to draw in the player is not to have the entire background text readable in the title-screen. Make the player curious by cutting the sides out of it, so that the text on the sides would not be visible.
