You do get rid of the ID robot by doing this:

Use the Sensor control panel to set the energy to Extra High and the Magnetic Field to MGN, then lead the robot to the sensor just outside the captain's quarter to disarrange it.

Unfortunately it's the only thing you need to do as this is the end of the demo. .
