Below is a list of all past and present commercial games made with AGS. Prices are of the cheapest available option, often the download price. Some may optionally come with a DVD case, jewel case, or any other extras or goodies... but they will cost you for sure.

The Adventures of Fatman Special Edition - $7.99

Tired of being ordinary?
Feel an overwhelming desire to save the world?
Tired of wearing your underwear inside your pants?

Then rejoin our hero Fatman as he attempts to save the day in this re-mastering of my original game. Some additions include, an all new alternate ending re-voiced by Grundislav, a new revamped GUI with a much easier to use EXIT pop-up mouse mode, new backgrounds, easter eggs, increase of the default walking speed, and bug fixes galore! Yes, that annoying doughnut world bug has been squashed!

Hauntings of Mystery Manor - $9.95

I am referring to it as a Gothic Adventure.  Not gothic as it means today but as Websters describes it:  (Gothic:  of or relating to a style of fiction characterized by the use of desolate or remote settings and macabre, mysterious, or violent incidents).

Intrigue At Oakhaven Plantation - $14.95

"The tall Oaks surround the stately white pillared mansion which sits placidly on the banks of Bayou Lafourche not too far from Barataria Bay.  It is a place which has been in the Allain family for over two hundred years.  It has survived the desolation of war and seen its share of human sorrow.  The massive Oak trees provide shelter from the ravages of the elements;  whether it be the fierce Louisiana storms or the long sultry southern summer.  They stand straight and true as timeless sentries before the house, on either side of the old dirt road... in direct contrast to those that they guard... And in their silence they bear witness to history and so far have kept close the dark secrets of Oakhaven Plantation... and those who live within its walls..."

Just when you thought things were going along nicely, you receive a letter from your Grand-mère asking you to please come to Oakhaven to discuss some important issues.  Oakhaven, that lovely southern plantation that still looks like it belongs in the 19th century.  Well how can you resist?  When you arrive you discover your cousin has also been invited and Grand-mère has more than just discussions on her mind.  Tests and conundrums are scattered throughout the plantation and you need to solve them before your cousin does.  Along the way, you begin to learn the dark secrets of the past.

Two swappable playable characters
20 Interactive Puzzles

Force Majeure 2: The Zone - $17

You are the sole survivor of an unknown catastrophe, trapped in an air-raid shelter. Escaping your confinement, you face a delusional reality known only as the Zone â€" a place where your own mind is your enemy. The city is in ruins: explore a dreamy landscape through the eyes of a lone wanderer trying to piece together fragments of the past.

Force majeure II: The Zone is an audio-visual interactive story/adventure game by Leo Nordwall set in a ruined city where everything seems uncertain. The Zone is experienced from a first-person perspective and is navigated by pointing-and-clicking. Photos, drawings, 3D renderings and live video footage have been integrated into a unique visual experience. The soundtrack is over 70 minutes long and features new tracks in the tradition of electro-acoustic music, ambient and electronica.

While there are plenty of interactive works and games that entertain by providing puzzle solving, action and slapstick humour, the Zone is all about exploring the unknown territories of the mind. If you feel that issues such as philosophy, poetry, metaphysics and art is your cup of tea, the story might interest you. If not, the irreal meanderings of the Zone is best left alone.

Force majeure: The Zone is produced by Leo Nordwall in cooperation with Interacting Arts and Fabel Förlag.

Explore more than 60 locations

CLASSIC ADVENTURE GAMING IS BACK
Himalaya Studios Ships Classic Style Adventure Game for the PC

September 6, 2006--Remember an era when classics like King's Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, and Monkey Island reigned supreme?  Remember a time when games had an enticing storyline and challenging puzzles? A few years ago, journalists proclaimed the adventure gaming genre was dead, but that didn't last for long!

The fan-bois (and girl) responsible for creating remakes of Sierra's beloved King's Quest I and King's Quest II, have just released their first original classic-style adventure game for the PC, Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine.

Britney Brimhall, Chairman & CEO of Himalaya Studios comments, “after spending several years in development, making certain to get all the details JUST right, we are SO excited to finally release the game to adventure game lovers around the world!”  Brimhall also remarks, “fans of the adventure genre have been neglected for far too long, and we hope with the release of Al Emmo, that gamers will once again feel the immense nostalgic feeling of loading a classic for the first time.”

Order fulfillment commenced on Wednesday morning, and those who placed a preorder can expect to receive their classic gaming goodness in a flash.  For those who did not yet place an order, now is the chance to visit Himalaya Studios' brand new online store at http://store.himalayaforums.com/.  Gamers can purchase the game, soundtrack, art prints and more, all which will be immediately shipped to their doorstep.

Recently, Himalaya Studios updated the official Al Emmo website.  Fans can mosey on over to www.alemmo.com for the chance to win prizes; take a sneak peek, behind the scenes, and see a “making of” movie; view never seen before concept art, and more!

To support their mission of keeping classic adventure gaming in the spotlight, Himalaya Studios encourages adventure gamers throughout the world to unite and spread the word of the return of classic adventure gaming with Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine!

Super Jazz Man - $8.95USD

This game puts you in the unitard and cape of a musical superhero who waits tables at the Zanzibar restaurant under the cover of night. After playing a weekend concert that revolutionizes the local airwaves, our saxophonist receives a phone call at work.

Super Jazz Man explores the fundamental elements of an adventure, unfolding locations with the progression of the narrative while featuring nostalgic low-color graphics. Play through four unique endings!

For roughly the price of a martini in Manhattan, you can play it today!

The Blackwell Legacy - $14.99

The Blackwell Legacy is the first case in a miniseries of games that stars a medium named Rosangela Blackwell and her spirit guide Joey Mallone. Their mission, it seems, is to assist tormented spirits and investigate supernatural goings on. They don't understand why they are thrown together, but they do the best they can.

The duo's first case will involve a series of suicides at a local university. Something unnatural has forced these students to kill themselves, and nobody knows why. Rosangela, who is just coming to terms with her new status as a medium, finds herself cast as the unwilling detective in this gruesome mystery.

Blackwell Unbound - $9.99

Thirty years before The Blackwell Legacy comes... Blackwell Unbound

The year is 1973.  The sound of a lone, ethereal saxophone drifts over the Roosevelt Island promenade, while a series of accidents plague a midtown construction site.  The citizens of Manhattan take no notice of these events, let alone think they are connected.

Embittered medium Lauren Blackwell and her spirit guide Joey Mallone are the only ones who believe that there is anything strange going on, and they are the only ones who can stop an enigmatic killer from striking again…

Features:
- An original score
- Full voice speech
- DVD-style commentary with Dave Gilbert and Erin Robinson

Diamonds in the Rough - $19.90 + shipping (no direct download)

Diamonds in the Rough is a 'traditional', 3rd person point & click commercial adventure game.

You play the role of a 20 year old American called Jason Hart. Jason is a high school dropout who works as an office boy. All that is about to change in the beginning of our story, when he is approached by a mysterious man who seems to know more about him than Jason does himself.

The man claims to represent an organization that recruits people who are believed to have "special abilities". Those abilities could be telepathy, telekinesis, or other extraordinary powers. Jason has had such an ability all his life, fearing to admit it to himself, let alone others. He accepts the job offer for this organization, which is called "Diamonds in the Rough".

The story begins as soon as Jason moves to a town in the Midwest, where he will be employed doing this mysterious "work". He will soon start to wonder who he is really working for, and what the purpose of the organization is.

Hi!

I've created a new category for the wiki. Read all about it here:

I suspect the first post of this thread would be a lot more legible without the marketing hype :)

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

Agreed, but I had to settle on some kind of description, so I just took the first post of the announcing thread. For readability's sake, I did format it using bold, italics and whatnot, which I usually don't, but I agree it's not perfect.

But the alternative would be to write a blurb for each game, and the author is the best person to write a blurb - anything else, written by anyone else, would be a review. What I *could* do is PM each author asking for a specific blurb with a limit of X words, consisting of description and, optionally, the game's features. Think that would work?

Curious if any of these games actually feature a native resolution of 800x600?

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

You can check out the threads the games' names' link to, as it seems to be a rather irrelevant question in this thread because it rather assumes that 800x600 is an important feature in a commercial indie adventure game.

However, no, I don't think so, they manage to look fantastic in 640x480, and I believe Super Jazz Man manages to look brilliant in 320x240 and a reduced palette.

http://www.mythopoeagames.com doesn't work. Comes up with advertisment stuff.

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

Thanks, I'll remove it from the blurb. However, check out the game's thread, there's an alternate link where you can buy the game.

I think 800x600 IS an important feature for MY commercial indie adventure game, which is why I asked in this commercial games thread, which seemed to be the right place to ask.

I never made any mention on how good other games looked in lower resolutions.

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

If you want to make a commercial indie adventure game which is 800x600, you need ask no one, really, it's your prerogative (sp?) as the game maker. At any rate, you can just click the game's name's and see their respective threads. This is merely a repository, easy to find, for said threads, sort of like an index which provides the most immediate information - blurb and price. For specific questions, as in any other product, you'd do well to, as it were, look up the product in detail instead of finding a FAQ in the catalogue's index, no?

I also think that the game titles with a prefix like "the"
shouldn't be filed/sorted under this prefix.

Example:
"The Adventures of Fatman" should be
"Adventures of Fatman, The"
