Hi all.
Please help! After a few drinks tonight me and my mates, somehow, got onto the topic of 'The Munsters'.
Now one of my mates swears that 'Robert Prosky' the guy who played 'Grandpa Fred' in 'Gremlins 2' (he was the one dressed as a vampire)
played 'Grandpa Munster' in one of the newish remakes of 'The Munsters'.
The rest of us weren`t sure of this.
A heated but friendly dispute took place that eventually drew other drinkers into the debate, none of which helped our plight, and only confused the issue.
Can anyone help? :)

I checked the IMDB and didn't see him credited with any Munsters movie. I could be wrong and maybe they just didn't update the info, but i am going to have to say no.

edit: Gremlins 2 was a great movie, and IMHO, way better than the first.

The same here, a quick search leads to the conclusion that the Gremlins actor Prosky never played in any Munsters remake, remix or whatever.
But, interestingly enough, reading up some background info about the Gremlins movie (Wikipedia is your friend  ;) ) reveals that a great deal of references are included in both films. In fact, the whole raiding of the cafeteria in Gremlins 2 is supposed to contain at least thirteen visual cross references to american pop culture.

I'd say the man dressing up as Grandpa Munster is really just such a reference. I mean, hello? The Munsters? You can't get much more classic!

Edit:
Classy. Sorry.
